This happens sometimes (thus I would classify this minor) and is a little bit annoying if happening ;): After connect>motd>team>skin the joinmessage (gg_join_msg 1) doesn't appear and the player remains dead. If the map has a roundtime, the player spawns on new roundstart.

Till now I wasn't able to reproduce this bug. Happens on ~20% of my connects.

Maybe this is related to the so-called "spectator bug", but as the effect of the one described here is different, I started a new bug report.

Thanks for the report. I took a look at the code, and didn't find anything obvious that might be causing it. I joined your server around 5 or so times, and, although it's a poor sample size, didn't notice the problem.

This doesn't mean that I don't believe you: most of the bugs that people submit I sadly have a hard time reproducing. :( We'll see what happens when the new spawn function becomes available.

how come i have dm enabled but no one respawns, it may be that it was 1 on 1 but they didnt even respawn once they died

Please don't bump old threads.

The answer is that on 1v1, when one player dies the round ends, and GunGame doesn't respawn players after the round ends.
