I've decided to restart TSXMOD.
Instead of 1 giant plugin, TSXMOD will be a mini-mod, that is, each peice of TSXMOD will be its own little plugin, communicating to the others. You can simply comment out one plugin in order to stop one effect, and you can easily attach your own to extend it.

I'll be building the three basic peices first, then making mini-plugins for it later.

For a quick install, use the simple install folder

this one works right now, im gonna keep using it, but im gonna add the ALERT thingy to the CNN.

I put the hangup handle in a lower priority then the talking. Once you started talking, you could not hang up.

Fixed.

Tomarrow, or maybe tonight, I'll be releasing an addon to the talkarea as a seperate plugin, which you will simply put alongside the normal talkarea, to provide phones.

In any case, download this newest talkarea.

sweet... i might think about changing then. My server keeps crashing a lot and i think it is because of the aval. plugin but i dont know... and this is just a question... is it possible to use sounds for the phonemod like... when it rings or is busy?

Update:
Added plugin "tsx_phones_addon" which extends phone functionality.
Added plugin "tsx_page_addon" which extends pager functionality
Introduced "tsx_hud", which adds a hud handler.
Put into a convient package.
Added an SDK for plugin development.

because your running the evil mecklenburg :evil:

it uses a lot of models and i had to edit some of the availible plugins to get it to work right.

i really wish that day/night plugin worked... add more realisticness.... you have any suggestion on good rp maps that would greatly comfort your work?

My clan site has all old plugins and such.

The new inventory will use VaultX, and be faster then any MYSQL connection you could possibly have. Unless you have REALLY slow RAM. I'd advise using the new one.

I MUST precache the files. However, all precaches I put in will be easy to turn on and off, through a #define. Thus, if you do not want the functionality, you will simply not have it. Thats what TSX MOD FINAL is all about. Choices.

I do, however, recommend not using any meck map. They were all made by an evil son of a bitch, and are all not conducive to RP.

For the guy asking how to design an addon:
I'll be adding a cvar to turn CNN to admin only today, and I'll write up a tutorial for making commands name specific.

However, until economy mod is done, it will not be based on the job description of the person.

As for the last post, try Timer16. I'll be including an updated version with easy to use defines into TSX mod, but until then timer16 is really worth it.

I suggest ccity2, any west map, slums, etc. Anything but meck.

OOC always makes a beep sound. Its to alert people that there is an Out Of Character Message. You can easily disable it by changing the last number in the overhear function in the OOC block to 0.

I have not CODED ATM's as of current. I have to code them to be map independent, since TSXMOD is NOT specifically designed for MECK or TSRP_WEST, its designed for ALL maps.

amx_set_job should set someones job, amx_set_salary should set someones salary.
If you are running TSX_HUD, the hud should appear automatically.
GunShop isnt done. Read the first post for a list of things running.

Phone calls ARE private, however people really close to the person talking on either end will be able to hear the conversation, just like someone can hear your phone in real life.

There is only an alert message for CNN.

Rob, Cuff, and Jail will be done right after Inv, NPC, and Criminal.

You should really read the first post before asking things.

Job's and Salaries are, by a small flaw of my own, not saving. I'll release an update as soon as possible.

One of my friends servers is the testing server, and we have been running TSXMOD for three days straight, the new fixed one, with no problems and no lag.

I hope to get out the more advanced NPC's soon. Thanks for your patience.

You have to edit the plugin.

The last peice of the function overhear deals with sound. Go to the OOC portion of handle_say, and change the last arguement of overhear to 0.

Shit happens to stop me from writing plugins sometimes.
And something sorta big came up.

Inventory mod is incomplete, so I'll be releasing, in about an hour, a few updates that will hopefully partially make up for it:

1. phone_addon now has an option for phone models, and perhaps sounds.
2. A peek at the upcoming NPC's.
3. A less complicated installation
4. A look at what is planned to come up.

Sorry, but the real world takes priority over the plugin world.

In addition, the SDK will be down for a little bit, until I am able to update it.

But very soon, the inv mod will be done and uploaded.

Ok, the new one with bug fixes and such is uploaded. Here is the schedual I intend to keep in order to get this shit done:

Inventory Mod: Wensday - Thursday
Phone Booth Addon: Friday
Keys/Doors: Friday

Finalize current plugins: Saturday
Finish most of the inventory items: Saturday
Banks: Saturday

NPC's for everything but INV (inv NPC's are done already): Sunday

Building Mod: Sunday After Next
CarMod: Sunday After Next.

After that, I cant really think of much more to do. Hunger mod and other such "plugins" to TSX mod will be done too, but after carmod and maybe petmod, I'm going to call it done and just write small addons when requested.

Inventory Mod will be released today, assuming I find the time to finish up the menu.

All commands are done (give, drop, us, etc), all the extendability is done, all I need is the actual visual menu, and hooking the commands into the menu, and making some things for extending the menu.

Also I need to make some example items, and a small hunger mod to show off the inv_food class items, but all in all, should be done by today.

I'd put the release at 10:00 PM Eastern, at the latest.

I might even have carmod or phone booth mod done by then.

The reason it was not released yesterday was a stupid mistake on my part.
I absentmindedly put a strlen where I meant a sizeof, and that threw all the reading from the file out.l

Okay i got a problem. I got the plugin and i got Vaultx i put the module .dll in there and i put the vault.inc in the include and the other file with all the other documents i put in the include as well after that i places the plugins were there supposed to be and add them to the plugins.ini correctly so im not sure what i did wrong. If you can help me please post something.

EDIT: I just noticed this recently as well in my consol..
NET_GetLong: Ignoring duplicated split packet 1 of 2 ( 1391 bytes )

And i had to remove the tsx_npc.amxx since i didnt have the required model if that would of made it not work.

EDIT: Heres another edit only thing that works is time16 and in the upper left corner its just says TSX-rp plugin announcments.

Cuffmod is part of INV

Inventory has cuffs as an item, so anyone who has them can use them. each cuff has a key. If the person with the key dies, the key is lost. Get what I mean?

No, that was Smiths AM cuff. My AMX cuff is slightly different.

Inventory mod is done. No cuff addon as of current, too tired. Gonna go get some rest. I included a copy of all the commands for TSXMOD.

Commands for inv:
say /buy -> Bring up buy menu
say /inv -> Bring up inventory menu

In Server:
spawn_inv_npc <slot> -> makes a particular NPC.

Items are done like this:
inv_create <name> <command> <price> <npc> <restrict> [Slot]
in server console.

Now then, if you put an NPC besides 0 for an item, it can only be bought near an NPC with the same number. If you set a restriction, the item may only be bought by a person with the same job name in economy mod as the restriction.

This allows you to set up police only cuffs, medic only medkits, etc etc.

I put a list of commands.

To spawn an inventory NPC, you do spawn_inv_npc with RCON access. I'll be writing up a map specific inv mod as soon as I'm done with school work, and I'll write up a give command, so you can make inventory mod guns, thus making a gunshop NPC.

I'll also be working on improving the NPC's, and making them more flexible before moving on to hunger and cuff addon.

Did I say I was working on GunShop? No. I said I was working on INV. So why did you suddenly assume that I was working on gunshop?

Do you even know how to use inventory mod? You make items execute commands on the server, and put in specific things to be replaced. For instance, %USERNAME% becomes the name of the user.

So a command of "amx_slay %TARGETNAME%" would slay whom ever the user of the item is looking at.

If you dont want a restriction, just put a 0 or "" or just dont put it, unless your using a specific slot. I recommend not using specific slots.

Cuff mod is simply an addon to Inventory mod that allows you to make keys.

With the second version of inventory mod, you'll be able to make the NPC say exactly what you want it to say, and change the model if you like, and maybe even the model of the gun if you like.

Should be done soon.

Okay well i see that my inv. items do appear in a way there in my inventory and they do not appear and the command i wanted it to do does not work at all. And they don't go to the npc so what do i need to do?
Another thing it doesnt show it is there so lets say i tried to create candy you dont see it anywhere but if you press 1 2 or 3 or any other number it shows for some reason.

Ok look, since there is some confusion on how to use INV mod, I'm updated it, and including a tutorial.

I'll finish cuff a little later, when I'm less bored.

For example, to make the DE n TS a cell phone:

Now, lets say you want the DE to be a phone ONLY on the map your currently on. Just do this:

I'm going to work on removal of NPC's and guns, but it wont be easy.

Currently, in order to remove a gun, you have to open up your map specific guns save file, and delete it, then reset server.

So just be very careful where you lay guns until I devise some sort of method (I might not be able to, or be too lazy too ^^)

BTW, the hover board looks fucking awsome (vehicle mod is coming along)

I believe I'll have sort of a beta vehicle mod out in about a day or two.

Hunger mod + cuff mod + heal mod + some other inventory addon commands will be out tonight, along with a send_gun command, so you can make a gunshop NPC to sell guns.

I'll include a tutorial on devising items and NPC's for these:
Restraunt owner <Sells food>
Gunshop owner <sells guns>
PD store <guns, cuffs, other police crap *like a tazer*>

Cool map.

When you kill an NPC, sometimes the gun attached to it has no place to go.
Since it is designed to follow things, it gets lonely, and tries to follow players, dead things, guns, etc.

I'm working on solving the problem, but it really isn't that big of a deal.

Multiple models and weapon models for INV mod has been discussed, and was always going to be implimented. However, things take time.

I'm building a module called ArrayX. Once it is completed, I'll resume work on TSXMOD.

Heres the order of how things will work after its done:
Various Mods - Cuff, heal, medkit, etc
VehicleMod
InvMod improvements
Keys/Doors/Building mod - will work on ANY map
PetMod
etc

AVARP also had a sort of ineffecient keymod.
KeyMod is going to function like this:

When you start up KeyMod, every door is unlocked, and has a key.
The admin runs around to a building they want to lock and sell.

He types in console like:
amx_make_building "Apartment A"
And then grabs the keys he wants to be bound to apartment A, then does
amx_end_building

Now, Apartment A is locked, and bound. Now you can make an Inventory Item with the following command:
amx_buy_building %USERNAME% "Apartment A"

Now, when they buy the item, and use it, they now have the deed to APARTMENT A, giving them all the keys assosiated with it, and such, thus allowing you to make a realestate INV NPC.

Keys have their own INVMOD type menu, called a KeyRing, from which you can access and use your keys.

In addition, any door not linked into Building Mod will have their keys still in the door, and attempting to use that door will lock it, and give the person using it the key.

Sound good?

BTW, with the new gunshop item "inv_gun", you can make gunshop NPC's, PD NPC's, and the rest.

I'll finish cuff at about 10:00 tonight, along with a medkit item I had planned, right after ArrayX.

Great job so far, you need to fix the pickpocket plugin, when i used it, and point eny entity in the map it says stolen $20 from the server, and when i try it from the player i dont get eny money at all ,and it succeeded all the time. Maybe reduce the change of pickpocket 60% -> 50% and fix it to work.

Model as many items as you can/have time/something. Its more cooler, and funnier to have a model item in hand instead of just a code happening. Like when you buy a beer you could get a beer bottle in the hand what you can drink by pressing mouse1 and when you buy a cigar you get a cigar model in ur mouth and when you press mouse1 it fires it.

Would it be possible to add a weapon deposit to the itemsmod? So when you go up to the itembox in the rooms and such, you can deposit items and weapons? This would be awesome so if you pick up a rare weapon such as a berrete or mp5sd (for me it's rare), you can store it for later.

thats weird. has anyone got the NPC NUMBER working? i made an npc number 2 and linked it to an item that has the npc number 2. the item wont show on that npc for some reason. and i still get the problem of the items staying in inventory after use.

I tested the updated plugins for bugs and heres what I got...

-You are able to pick up the key to the door you are facing using the /door command even when it's unlocked
(Is that correct? I don't think this is a bug, but what's the point of having a key when it's unlocked?)

-Doors controlled by buttons don't function. Doors that are normally closed on map start can still be controlled. But when they are open on map start they don't close because you can't see the door since it's inside the wall.
example: Mecklenburg PD Security Door doesn't appear, even after pressing button.

-In the HUD it says I have the key, but I can't open the locked door by touching the door.

-Doors strangely open and close rapidly. (Not all doors at the same time, I think) Happens rarely though. Only had it occur twice.
(Not much of an issue, I believe)

Yes. All buttons are broken. There is a reason for this. I hate buttons.

Its not so much a bug as a "I don't care, use it my way" kinda thing.

If it says you have the key, you have the key. say door to open it.

All DoorMod errors are usually brought on by having doormod AFTER talkarea in the plugin.ini.

Anyway, I tested it over and over.

Money Mod: You drop 0.0 dollars if you do not have any money to drop.
Deal with it. When credit cards and bank cards are done, I'll link it to them.

Thanks for the input, but those are not really bugs.

Ok Mel, I'm having trouble with my test server for this.

I've set everything up right, and it all works fine with meck and such. But I've concluded that doormod is the cause of this problem.

I spawn, and go through the lights on the side of the walls in front of the spawn portals, and I get teleported to the apartment complex outside the MCPD's door, and I'm stuck. Slapping cannot get me out of it.

I've tried re-compiling the doormod, along with every other plugin, but without success.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, because for you and awpster, it seems to work fine.

if you looked on the screenshot I was using the /door command, but it said i dont have the key. then i did amx_give_key (to me) and no change. w/e, i wont lock doors i guess

Hi,

luv your tsx mod and such but im having a bit of a problom with using the stuff inside of it. I downloaded the stuff and the first time it had compile errors in my .sma compiler. I realized that i needed some vaultx thing. So i download it and such and put the .inc file in the include folder. The compiles work fine, i put the compiled files into the plugins folder. Edit the plugins.ini, and start the server. Now when i finally started it, there is 3 of the plugins that cant load:

Another problom, when i type the word "call" the game crashes and talks about some precache error with v_cell.mdl. I have the vaultx module installed and running, dunno what problom is.

Actually, meck_final NEVER runs on RP servers. Ever. Meck runs, meck_final does not.

You have to either:
A. Know all of the coordinates for entities and replace them via stripper2 (ala Dickler)
B. Know all of the coordinates for entities and replace them via tsx_stripper2 (ala TSX)
C. Discover a dynamic way of reading and re-writing entities via AMXX (also me)

I'll get someone to host meck_final also. I do not support it, but I figure people should have the choice to play whatever map they like.

Also, I like to piss off Dickler.

I'll be releasing default NPC's for:
tsrp_westminster
meck_final
meck 8/7
ccity2

And also I'll be releasing example items, about 50 of them, and I'll be upping the default inv mod item limit to 200.

In addition, I'll be making some examples for things like map replacement tech and precache/unprecache mod.

For example, I have replaced the katana with a baseball bat, and the grenade with a base ball. Also, I have removed the precaches for all thrown weapons, so they just become ammo packs, etc.

These are EXAMPLES, not defaults, just to show you how they work.

I'll also be adding default values to get all maps down to running TSXMOD within the 512 precache limit. This means anyone with limited experience will be able to run TSXMOD_FINAL with no additional help.

TSXMOD_FINAL will also feature an enhanced weather mod, with lagless technology. I'll also be working to bring the CPU usage of model replacement down, so that people can use it without lagging out.

Anyway, enough of me talking. Time to go to class

Door mod is working but its hud isnt showing up.

It started happening after I got ArrayX in.
