Fixed a potential error from callfunc_end, if you aren't running mapchooser.amxx (or something is wrong with it) and you have gg_vote_setting enabled.

Players on the grenade level should receive a new hegrenade (if they don't have one anymore) from a knife kill, as originally intended.

If the grenade level is the first level, and you are running knife warmup, you should no longer have grenades during your warmup.

Fixed a bug with CZ bots being level 0 instead of level 1 after the warmup ends.

i got the plugin installed and it worked great for about 4 maps. the problem i'm having is when a player wins. the rounds keep going it does change to the next map in the rotation.

other then the map not changing after someone wins, it seems to work perfect!!!

By default, GunGame goes to the map stored in amx_nextmap, which should be set automatically (I thought), and also on the map vote if you have it enabled. If you are running a custom map rotation plugin, there is some small support for that with gg_changelevel_custom.

But, in 1.04, which is nearly done, there will be support for a custom GunGame mapcycle file anyway.

yeah i see what it does by default, but what i'm saying is, the plugin worked good for about 4 maps.... now when a player wins gungame, game play continues and an admin has to change the map manually... and the gungame custom map vote setting doesn't work at all

cool awesome.... i had the plugin running on my server for about 6 hours yesterday and it never crashed, just didn't change maps after about the 4th map change... i understand this shit is frustrating... thanks for hookin it up! :D

That's never, ever happened to me. The grenade and knife levels always require only 1 kill, if that is what you are talking about. Do you have gg_kills_per_lvl set in gungame.cfg or in the gg_map_setup cvar, ie something that might be conflicting with it?

Also when someone reaches level 23 I believe, or 22. FriendlyFire turns on.
The cvar, gg_ff_auto, turns friendlyfire on when someone reaches the grenade level. Change the cvar to 0 to disable this feature.

I deleted my post.. I did'nt upload the sounds or try disabling the warmup round. lemme do that and see if it fixed it... I'll post back..

yeah, I tried it with respawn_auto disabled. still crashed..

about gg_dm. yeah it does'nt crash with dm disabled. But our community really wants the dm-play.

I could still not reproduce the crash, but I have one idea of what could may possibly very rarely be it. Since you guys are really good at getting it to crash, try this out and let me know how it goes. Does it still crash? If so, does it seem to take longer or lesser time to do so? Etcetera...

Also, for the purpose of testing, disable all third-party plugins please. I know one of you said you did and it still crashed, but for this test leave them disabled still. The base and mod-specific plugins that came with AMXX should still run fine with it.

Alright, here of my official statements about the latest bug reports...

The crashing issue has been deciphered with the help of raa, and a fix has been created. I just have to wait for raa to do some final testing to confirm that the fix works. It turns out that it was coming from removing defusal kits that were dropped on death, in deathmatch mode.

The issue with the map cycle not working after a certain number of map changes, is probably related to mapchooser.amxx's functionality. However, other people have had it run for many more maps without any failure. Regardless, I consider this a non-issue due to the custom map cycle support. However, if you still don't want to use a custom map cycle, and this issue still occurs with the next version, we can figure out a fix.

The report of the warmup timer not setting when in amxx.cfg even after 1.04 has been unravelled, and the cause was rather silly. Raa used a cvar name of gg_warmup_timer, instead of gg_warmup_timer_setting. I don't know why the cvar has such a long name, I simply used the cvar names from the original GunGame. I forgive raa anyway. ;)

The bug in deathmatch mode with respawning but still being a spectatoresque monstrosity (originally pointed out by raa) has also been pinpointed. It's an engine limitation, and it happens if the user is respawned after he leaves the kill cam, and is in regular spectator mode. I have created a fix for the next version, but it can potentially leave player shells behind on respawn. To avoid this, simply use a respawn time lower than 5 seconds (this seems to be the time that it switches to spectator mode). BAILOPAN has promised(ish) a new function in an upcoming AMXX version that will resolve this, so until then you will have to stick with player shells or a smaller respawn timer.

Not really. I've played it on someone's 30-person server without any random lag. It could be connecting players downloading the sounds off of your server, or possibly another of your plugins.

sorry for double post but umm is there a way to make it so when people join they dont auto get average level of the game? and how do i add awp. Other than that this is awesome. Also its the most very popular game on CS:S seems like the same code to the way the sounds are and the entrance text. But ya very nice.

Liquidz: set gg_handicap_on to 0 instead of 1 in your gungame.cfg to disable new players getting the average server level. Also, in gungame.cfg, it should be easy to see how to add the AWP. In the gg_weapon_order cvar, add "awp" somewhere along there. Make sure every weapon is separated with a comma.

hi,

there is nothing engine about the corpses being left around after a player spawns (shells, as you call it). that is all handled by CS. you can disable it by blocking the ClCorpse message.

I ran this as a test along side of gg with a 5 second respawn and no corpses stayed behind, without it it was filling the map up.

In fact, it's the same problem as csdm 2.1 beta4 version. See my solved trouble here : http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=47415

I got a steam error too : ERROR (shutting down): SeamGetEncryptionKeyToSendToNewClient: Returned NULL!".

With csdm I've solved this problem while updating csdm 2.1 stable version.

So, any idea for GunGame plugin ? :)

i feel like an idiot for asking this but is their anyway you can include a file to help user install this. I thought i did it right but apparantly i havent.

Things ive done.

put the gungame.amxx file in the plugins folder
put the gungame.sma file in the scripting foler
put the gungame sounds in the sounds folder
put the gungame_mapcycle.txt file in the /czero folder
put the gungame.cfg file in the /czero folder
edited the modules.ini file to enable fakemeta
disabled all other 3rd party plugins

ive tried to type gg_enable 1 in console ingame and it says its an unknown command.

Can someone please let me know what im doing wrong?

i want to thank Silver Dragon (http://forums.alliedmods.net/member.php?u=3902) for his help. Turns out the issue was my amxx was 1.75 instead of 1.76b. i dont know why i didnt think of that but he pointed it out and now its all dandy! :mrgreen: kudos joo

Mod is running strong.

Few suggestions. Is their a way to make it so that when someoen wins it displays a custom motd with the name of the winner in the middle. SOmething like congradulations "so and so" you are too 1337! lol i dunno couldnt think of anything im sure you can come up with something a lil better.
Also i dont know if this would defeat the purpose but is their a way to make the player pick up and drop weapons. Of course if you kill someone with another weapon other then the one assigned to your level then you will not get the upgrade but maybe you just need another weapon to stay alive fighting off two or three players then you can switch back to your level's weapon to finish that last guy off.
I am still in the testing stages to see if any other plugins conflict with this mod. If i find any i will let you guys know. Here is what i am currently running.

I found the trouble. In fact, I've installed Teleport Smoke Grenade by VEN with GunGame plugin. So I've removed this plugin and now server don't crash anymore. Any ideas to put this plugins together without crash ?

Running fine on my server, but one suggestion:
If the player is a nade level he must get more than one grenade, it seems impossible to win if you run around with one grenade and if it is done you can kill yourself because you dont get a new one to get your grenadekill.
I allready changed gg_nade_glock to 1 to get a glock and do some damage before throwing the he, but that's not an ultimate sollution.
Suggestion: every 5 seconds a new grenade.

you can do what im doing. I downloaded armouryeditor.amxx from here and turned all the weapons on the ground into nades :)! i will see 2morrow how the people in our server like that idea. it might get a little crazy especially since friendly fire is on but o well. we will see

Hmmm, one problem: it seems that it doesn't start a mapvote when one player wins the game. Time is still running up and the normal mapvote starts 2 mins before the end of the map.

you can do what im doing. I downloaded armouryeditor.amxx from here and turned all the weapons on the ground into nades :)! i will see 2morrow how the people in our server like that idea. it might get a little crazy especially since friendly fire is on but o well. we will see

Ran armouryeditor.amxx on my server and realized it doesnt work. When the player is at nade leven and tries to pick up one of the nades on the floor it turns into the actual weapon it was supposed to replace.

I found the trouble. In fact, I've installed Teleport Smoke Grenade by VEN with GunGame plugin. So I've removed this plugin and now server don't crash anymore. Any ideas to put this plugins together without crash ?
Looking through his code, I don't see anything that would cause a conflict.

Running fine on my server, but one suggestion:
If the player is a nade level he must get more than one grenade, it seems impossible to win if you run around with one grenade and if it is done you can kill yourself because you dont get a new one to get your grenadekill.
I allready changed gg_nade_glock to 1 to get a glock and do some damage before throwing the he, but that's not an ultimate sollution.
Suggestion: every 5 seconds a new grenade.
There was a suggestion like this for the official GunGame mod, and iKhan the Quiet's reply pretty much summed up my thoughts: "ive played in a server with unlimited nades and i personally hated it. it makes it so any noob can get their nade kill just by endlessly huckin em around every corner and where someone is. that idea of earnin a nade sounds pretty cool though." Cagemonkey himself said, "... the nade level is supposed to be the hardest level in the game. Getting a knife kill does take skill, no doubt, but a nade kill is much harder." Knifing someone while on the grenade level will still give you another HE grenade, if you want to give that a shot.

edit: works great!!! love the mod, excellent work :D i have made a gungamne_mapcycle.txt and placed it in the root folder but mapchooser.amxx is only giving stock map options?

Hmmm, one problem: it seems that it doesn't start a mapvote when one player wins the game. Time is still running up and the normal mapvote starts 2 mins before the end of the map.
Time still runs up with the plugin enabled, yes. The map vote should start when one player reaches the last level, before they win. Make sure that gg_vote_setting is 1. The next version will announce the winner if the map ends not because of GunGame. What is your mp_timelimit set to?

Unlike some of the other creaters of mods with issues, he took full responsibility of this mod and prooved without a doubt that he understands the un-written rule that if your gonna make something you should go all the way and support it to the best of your abilities.

Not infinite grenades!
I have a weapon arena server, i know what happens then. t isn't hard to kill one with a grenade if you spam a point all the time.
Every 10 seconds a new one. This is much more than enough for others to see where he is and atack him while he only has knife. So he must know where or when to throw his egg.

But i see your pov there. Nevertheless very nice plugin.

Tested the mapchange again.
Works perfect. As soon a player reaches grenade level the vote starts and with the win: bingo, mapchange :D
Didn't upgraded to the latest version now as all funktions are running fine and i don't use dm mode, so nothing to worry about corpes :)

The 1.06b update fixes a bug where, when gg_handicap_on is on, but gg_top10_handicap is off, players in the top10 would potentially start at level 0 instead of level 1. It also fixes the bug with stealing multiple levels from one kill, and adds the cvar gg_awp_oneshot (default 1) which controls whether or not the AWP has only 1 bullet per clip (requested by moonboi03).

The original GunGame had the 1 bullet AWP clip feature, not sure why, but that's why I added it in the first place.

The gungame_mapcycle.txt file overrides the vote system. Remove it to enable voting from addons/amxmodx/configs/map.ini

the reason why i ask is because in the other gun game mod ive played by RH (the origional gg mod) it doesnt auto kick people who are afk but if you kill them it doesnt count that as a "levelup". i thought maybe he would be interested in implementing that. just a thought

I noticed that too when testing, forgot to mention it. It seemed about the time I was going to be released into spec camera (5 seconds after death), and spawned, I was then able to knife people from spec mode :o

Why dont u just set ur server to not allow spectators? Theres also a plugin to only allow admin spectators. Id hate to see a great feature removed simply because theres a bug in spectator mode. (Avalanche- I remember BAILOPAN had a similar problem with his DM plugin that I think he resolved with his latest version. I remember that if you switched to spectator, you could go around killing people, but as soon as you died, it would correctly put you in spec mode)

Just curious....do you mean released as in posted for public download? or "made" after yours?

I personally played the RH gungame and have found it very stable.

I have played that cz version for almost two months.

However, like andres who had requested a gungame mod in the suggestions forum, I too wanted a gungame mod for czero.

I wrote my own version just as you did, by emulating what I saw from 4hms version on source, though I did change things in my version to my liking.

I have not released mine and have had to add a message stating that my version is not RH's version nor is it yours.
( not the concept, I give full concept credit to 4hm on my site...with a link back to cage monkey)

People have mistaken my version for yours which honestly has gotten really stupid.

Only a week after I finished mine did I notice yours on the forums. But I did not make any fuss about it since you chose to release yours and I made mine solely for my server with no intent to release.

The reason I am posting though is simply this:

RH's version is RH's version. Whatever they are violating is between them and the parties involved in resolving the matter.

Avalanches version is Avalanches version. What he decides to put into it and how it works is solely up to his discretion.

If people want to say "Can you add blah blah to this plugin like what RH's version does" is simply starting a fire that should have been put out already.

If you want avalances version to run like RH's version, then learn to code and make the edits yourself, otherwise constantly comparing these two versions is going to keep a fire burning that shouldnt be.

Again, even the concept itself was not all 4hms as he did state it came from socom. The concept of having it in cs is however all 4hms.

I cannot really talk about how the plugin runs or does not work in some parts of it as I said I had finished my own version a week before avalanches release and have been running mine.

I initially chose not to post about it since it wasnt fair but all the same, other people should not compare one gungame version to another.

Use avalanches version, make suggestions, help him find bugs, etc. but dont compare one to the other as its just a never ending cycle that gets nowhere.

One comment: does it matter? Unless you've officially went through the process of releasing an "amxx plugin" by new plugin submissions, and had it approved by AMXX modders, you don't need to comment on your own works. After all, this is the AMXMODX website and this plugin was clearly written solely for amxx users so I suggest some of you to stop self-promoting yourselves along with other groups with your "own" versions that have/had no intentions of sharing the source code to the public.

With that being said, I have this wonderful plugin installed on one of my servers and it is running flawlessly.

First off. Avalanche i dont know why your getting pissed. All these people they make comments about my gg (RH) arent even affiliated with RH. My clan isnt even on here.

Second of all, what they mean by "original" is. I didnt release my gun game to keep my server busy. Not be an a$$. They mean I had it out on my server in CZ months before anyone else. Original being the first to code it on CZ. Not the first to come up with the Idea.

Nobody cares who was first, and who wasnt. But to take all the credit as if u were the only one to code it for CZ is wrong. There is 5 or 6 versions now. Whether they are on these forums or not. They are still out there.

Nobody has unique ideas anymore.

For some reason my posts keep getting deleted. None of my posts have ever been rude or insultive. If this post gets deleted a reason why would be nice.

I added in 1.06c, that every value above 1 you set gg_vote_setting to, is a level before the final level that it will start the vote. So in your case, you should set gg_vote_setting to 4.

I just redownloaded fakemeta_util.inc from VEN's post and compiled without any errors. Make sure you are downloading the topmost file: fakemeta_util.inc

violentcrimes: it's possible that gg_map_setup is set after the first round, and so you have to wait until the next round for it to take effect. If it still is one minute on the second round, do you have any other configs setting mp_roundtime?

i actually hadn't noticed until i updated. but i was told by other members that it happens more frequently since.

for me, i just got thrown in to spec while playing. status screen (tab) said i was alive but i was in spec. after the last person had died in the round, it did restart however.

to get out of spec, i had to type kill in console

I have a problem with gg_ff_auto. It is set to 1 in GunGame.cfg and it works fine when someone gets to grenade level. The only problem is, when the map changes, it carries on with ff on and that isn't meant to happen.

There are no gg maps for non source cs unless you make them yourself.

I have installed this on my brand new server lol, just for this mod. But i changed the values in the gungame.cfg but the server still goes by the original one. I have changed the warmup time, and the turbo on. But the server doesnt take, yes i have restarted a couple of times.

ok well I'm having some issues...but I think that's on the server hosts end..gungame still working great...just wanted to ask one thing...would it be possible to set it so that t's don't lvl as soon as they plant the bomb...but rather if the bomb sucessfully goes off? Hope that makes sense...

Try this. Set gg_bomb_defuse_lvl to 2 to have the planter only receive a level if the bomb explodes. If it's set to 1 it will behave as before.

Thanks for a great mod.

My admins have requested that the random spawn be truly random, not just using the existing spawn points at TS/CT. Is there a way to integrate Bailopan's CSDM spawn points into this mod? Obviously running both mods at the same time would lead to problems.

If you're not interested in doing that yourself, well, would you like a copy of the code if I can get it working?

I am experiencing a invisibility bug, every so often someone will go invisible, it this related to the Spec bug already reported?

I have the deagemapmanage230b running, will this plugin start a map vote using this plugin or should I use the original map vote plugin??

Gunny: I can have it detect for a gungame.cfg in your addons/amxmodx/configs folder as well as your mod dir in the next release, but I don't know when that would be.

I have no idea about the invisibility bug. Maybe the rendering effects from the spawn protection are interfering with the rendering effects from another of the plugins you are running?

The map votes started by this plugin are from AMXX's default mapchooser.amxx. I only have limited third-party-plugin support for voting: if your custom voting plugin has a command that can be forced to call a vote, you can use gg_vote_custom (see the cvars page).

Imanoobie: Playing an MP3 uses 2D sound; it's like playing it through Windows Media Player, iTunes, or Winamp. Emitting a sound uses 3D (realistic) sound; the volume scales depending on where and how far away the entity emitting the sound is in relation to the player.

GunGame AMXX 1.07 Changelog
gungame.cfg can now be placed in AMXX's configs directory (ie: addons/amxmodx/configs/) instead of the mod directory (suggested by Gunny). Note that it still works if in the mod directory. Fixed some problems with the gungame.cfg, where only part of gg_map_setup would be read. Fixed a runtime error (thanks Mordekay). The gg_max_lvl cvar should now correctly apply to all kinds of levels, not just ones gained by kills. Setting gg_bomb_defuse_lvl to 2 makes it so that the Terrorist who planted the bomb will only gain a level if the bomb actually detonates (suggested by locojob). Added new cvar gg_host_touch_reward (default 0), which is how many unique hostages a player has to touch in a round to gain a score (not level). 0 means disabled. Added new cvar gg_host_rescue_reward (default 0), which is how many unique hostages a player has to rescue in a round to gain a level. 0 means disabled.

How it works, Mordekay, is that it renames gungame.stats to gungame.stats2. Then it goes through it, decides which entries to keep, and writes it to a new gungame.stats. Since it says that it can't find gungame.stats2, that means that the rename is somehow failing. But, I don't know why.

I've got a problem, it's strange.

I have gungame running perfectly on a 32 Slot Server, however? on certain maps, it only allows "10 people per Side" Ex: CT or T.

So basically nobody else can join either team so it stays at 20/32 ? on de_dust2 it works perfectly, on de_inferno it's fine aswell, nuke/office it won't allow more then 10 per side.

I tried mp_limitteams 0 1 and 2, without success.

Help please.

klobb: gg_changelevel_custom doesn't work like that. If you want it to just go through them in a cycle, then use the custom mapcycle feature. Create a new file named gungame_mapcycle.txt in your server's mod directory (ie: cstrike/ or czero/), and then put one map name on each line. So, for you, it would look sort of like this:

For your mapcycle....your already killing yourself just copy and pasting all your maps.

Also added in version 1.04 (and also suggested by 3volution), is support for a GunGame map cycle. If there is a file named "gungame_mapcycle.txt" in the server's mod directory (ie: cstrike/ or czero/), then it will be used as the map cycle while GunGame is enabled

Also...Avalanche could possibly add into the plugin to restart the server when gg_enabled is changed via rcon mid map to allow for the plugin to run as if the map had just changed and vice versa.

IDK...just a suggestion for avalanche.

GunGame AMXX 1.10 Changelog
Added a new command, amx_gungame, which can be used to turn GunGame on or off in the middle of the game safely, as requested by klobb. You should now always use this to toggle the functionality of GunGame in the middle of a round, instead of changing the value of gg_enabled. By default this requires ADMIN_CVAR (flag "g") access, but can be changed by modifying the COMMAND_ACCESS define at the top of the script.
Added cvar gg_host_kill_reward (default 0), which gives a Terrorist this much EXTRA score (not levels) for killing a CT that was escorting a hostage. This is to balance out the other hostage rewards that CTs can get. Players can't gain more than one extra level this way. This does not work in Condition Zero! CZ bots are too funky, apparently.
Added a new cvar gg_dm_countdown (default 0), which shows a countdown timer to a player telling him how much time left he has until respawn. 1=center say, 2=HUD message, 3=both
When a player wins GunGame, it is now logged to the server (suggested by Mr. Musiker) in the following format:
"NAME<USERID><AUTHID><TEAM>" triggered "Won_GunGame"
Added multilingual support as requested by arkshine. This means that everyone will now have to install the dictionary file to run the plugin. See the first post, under the Installation section, for more details.
When using gg_dm_spawn_random, it will now check to see if you have any CSDM spawn files, and if so spawn you at one of those spawns. See the first post, under the Installation section, for more details.
When using gg_dm_spawn_random, it will now try to find you a spawn point that isn't already occupied. If every single one is occupied, it'll just spawn you inside of someone, like it used to. Thanks to VEN for is_hull_vacant.
gungame_mapcycle.txt can now be named gungame_mapcycle.cfg, if you so feel like it. You can also place it in your AMXX config directory. Whether the extension is .txt or .cfg, and whether it is in the mod directory or AMXX config directory, it will still work.
Fixed a bug with stat pruning, which occurred when running AMXX 1.76a. Thanks to Mordekay for pointing this out.
Maybe fixed the spectator glitch again.
"say !restart" is now an alias for "say !reset"
IMPORTANT: Changed the friendly fire alert message to green instead of red, because I think that it just looks better that way, alright?

We just dont want the gg mod on all the time. And this doesnt just happen with the gg mod plugin...all the plugins you cant unpause through amxmodmenu. Any suggestions?

TS1: make sure you are using AMXX 1.76 or later, and have both the cstrike and fakemeta modules enabled. Also make sure that you didn't misspell "gungame.amxx" in the plugins.ini file.

evoncolombo: Because respawning is a part of the original Source GunGame. That is why I included it in this, instead of just telling you to use a custom respawn plugin. Since I'm supporting respawning, I might as well make it good.

Since there is no feature in the original Source GunGame (as far as I'm aware) to remove the objects from a map, I chose not to initially include it in this version. And since there is also another plugin designed to do exactly that, I see no reason to add it to this plugin.

WingnutJ: You have to install the dictionary file. See the Installation section of the first post.

I would like to request an option of having a rotating weapons order.

Maybe this could be written to allow us to choose how many different orders we wanted and with the more weapon orders you have, the more maps it would cycle through.

Just an idea to make this mod more interesting each and every map.

I have no idea what would cause that. For now you can just remove the Chinese part of the dictionary file (from [cn] onward).

EDIT: It's most likely a problem with the UTF-8. HL (and subsequently AMXX) wasn't even designed to support UTF-8, so I've removed it from the dictionary file. If you really want Chinese anyway, you can download it from this post.

EDIT EDIT: files removed (and, no, it wasn't the problem).

Avalanche, great work on this plugin - many people love playing it on our clan server (connect dallas.kirclan.net if you wanna see).

I just have a couple issues to bring up that maybe you can walk me through.

Our server runs in Deathmatch mode. When I enable delayed spawning, people randomly do not respawn - even though the game says they are no longer 'DEAD'.

We either have to manually respawn them using a seperate plugin or they have to reconnect. Also on reconnecting, the players' levels are no longer saved - I think they start on the lowest active player's level.

For now, I am just turning the delay off because people like the quick respawn and madness of deathmatch.

Another issue that came up was with the mapvote. The first problem was the map vote not displaying all the maps in the maplist.txt. I had changed the config to use gungame_maplist.txt as well, but the same issue arose.

After this, I tried using the custom mapvote command cvar to use the mapmanager plugin command (dmap_rockthevote). This doesn't seem to work ever. I am going to try these things again. I'll let you know if I have any more info.

one of the memebers had an idea. for competition, maybe you could make a cvar to keep the same gun for an entire map. this would add a new edge for clan matches and make it a good length in play time. is this possible?

The reason that it isn't saved is because you have gg_save_temp set to 0. The reason it levels them is because you have gg_handicap_on set to 1.

What is maplist.txt? And gungame_maplist.txt? I'm confused.

I disabled my 'mapmanager' plugin and am now using 'mapchooser'. The mapchooser will initiate a vote near the end of the map timelimit, but gg never initiates it .
Do you have a gungame_mapcycle.txt file? That file would override this setting.
