We are currently looking for translations of the default plugins (http://www.amxmodx.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/amxmodx/plugins/lang/).

If you are interested in translating them write a PM (http://www.amxmodx.org/forums/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=2) (don't reply to this thread with an application).
You have to speak English and the other language well.


We already have translators for these languages:
Brazil Portuguese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

I noe russian but say you want me to translate stuff into russian do we provide you with russian letters or english but with russian pronouncination?

it cannot have grammatical accents in the letters... If there is it is an empty space in the place of the accentuated letter.

"New" words should not be an issue (well it probably will anyway) since the Vatican publishes a magazine that usually contains a list of "new" words like refrigerator, computer (instrumentum computatórium), etc.

yes, i used aussie speak as an example cause im australian... although yes, same for canadian... like have a little addon pack with all wierd languages...

i've completed the full dutch translation, i have zipped the complete [lang] directory (see attachement) i think its a pretty good translation 8)
I like it except you should translate ban and kick too :p

Im at a horrible PC, tomorrow I get home. As soon I see Sniper ill ask if he can change the assignment Dutch to you since its pretty well.

well the word "ban" is being used more in nl then the word "verban" which is the exact translation. i could also trplace kick with schop, but it sounds like shit. so i think this the best option is to keep it unchanged.

I had this dillema too... you could do ADMIN: verwijder (kick), ADMIN: verban (ban) and ADMIN: Verwijder verbanning (unban)

I agree our language isnt that nice but we cant just start using other languages, we do that enough allready (Just do it, Im lovin it, Hype)
If we'd view it from that perspective we could just not translate at all.

It is true... is word that we needed to maintain in english because if we put in the correct language many people they won't know the real significance.
But the translation assists a lot for the game to be funnier, mostly the events announcements of HS, etc... :)

amx USE THE character set of Half life engine so if that support tawainese (it s a local version) maybe you can use the taiwain char set

but for better use and better compatibility use english table charset

sorry dude, i really don't know much what writing Chinese or Taiwanese use. I just saw some pictures on TV of kids playing in Taiwan with I thought were native characters. (which I now know it's Chinese :lol: )

Anyway I think its about time Metamod and AMX mod X move to support standard UTF-8 or Unicode character as native character set. Maybe when Half Life 2 is out ? and Metamod 2 :-) Even this forum supports UTF-8

and i worked well on my server now
i mean the Chinese character

i added [cn] in every .txt file
then saved as UTF-8 codec
and then i use UltraEdit to convert it to ANSI
by this the problem i mentioned before was solved

i'm looking forward to seeing that it will be in ur official release

because some change are made and you aren t warn about it

i prefer you contact Sniper or Other dev, for add you in translation team, but if the file is not the good some person can be fall in error (sorry for my english)

ok,i delete other languages but Chinese
i also fixed several translation errors
i see that,maybe i did make some changes without warning
so,here is lang_Only_Chinese.zip :(

here're some words maybe u already knew
as u know,ANSI doesn't support Chinese character
so when u add it to the languages files
the file should be saved as UTF-8 codec
en,it's not finished yet by now
after that,the AMX MOD X will tell u there were errors in line 1 of the file
this problem can be solved by converting UTF-8 to ANSI
in fact, this step just help u to delete the header of the UTF-8,
to let AMX MOD X "know" this file
(i used UltraEdit to do that)

i'm working hard on my translation
in order that other people won't fall in error
u know,errors will exits anyway
but i'll do my best to make the translation better and better


i found stats_dod.txt in the TP4
i thought it was for DOD
so i didn't add it
and i saw ur update just now

Some aren t in UTF-8 and some other [en] tag is not changed to [cn]

and just update the file and type your change

Cantonese is one native language spoken by the people of one province
it was called "Guangdong Province"
they two are so different in pronunciation
but one thing is that:
the ones who understand Cantonese must understand Mandarin
but the ones who understand Mandarin might not undertand Cantonese
but, we use the same chinese characters

i've updated the languages files of Simpified Chinese
and the tag was changed to [sc]
here is alos the Traditional Chinese version
the tag is [tc]
i didn't put them together

i'm afraid that i'll make mistakes without warning

the English-Chinese version will be here soon
but in my own opinion,there won't be many people who speak Chinese use this version
just as u know,that version should be made by the word's pronunciation,not by their meanings
so,if we use it,we must read it first,and find its meanings by the pronunciation
there're so many words in Chinese have the same pronuncitions
(u can ask ur friend this Sanaell :wink: )
it will be not convenient for us to use this version

will it be very different from that of version 0.16?
i want 2 translate it to Chinese~~
because it's English,so many chinese players didn't see it by heart
