If you don't have it as of yet, then here are some places to get it:
TheNZ.org (Link to file) (http://www.thenz.org/downloads/demos/Battlefield/2/Battlefield_2_Demo.exe)
KingPinServers.com (Link to web page) (http://www.kingpinservers.com/component/option,com_wrapper/Itemid,56/)
Download.com (Link to web page) (http://www.download.com/Battlefield-2-demo/3000-7452_4-10404526.html) I do personal like the demo. It gives you a good idea on how the game will play, but at the same time, the demo is a wee bit buggy. Such as the shadows are just one huge square on the vehicles. As for the rest of the game, it runs pretty smoothly. My one problem is the soo called requirement of Windows XP. Althought it only gives you a warning that you are not running WinXP (32-Bit). It is still quite a strange requirement. I am running Windows XP x64 Pro, and it runs fine. I have a friend (Ludwig van) who is running the demo on Windows 2000, he has also had no issues with the demo. One more thing about the demo, and the game itself, is that you need an really high end video card to run the game. I don't think anything less then a NVIDIA FX 5900 (256MB) [or equlivent] is even playable on this demo. However this is away around this. How to get TI series video cards running BF2. (http://www.kingpinservers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2067) Now that I have had a chance to get a few things off my chest, how has your experace with the game been?
