I was on a server today and they had some type of plugin that let them have more than 20 on 20, and it wasn't bot.join anyone have any idea what that is?

sv_visiblemaxplayers

you can have your server show any number under the amount that it is really set to hold

by having +maxplayers 24 you can have sv_visiblemaxplayers 20 giving you 4 hidden slots, you then need a plugin to reserver those hidden slots because it's not hard at all to get on even when it says it's full if there are hidden slots available.

no I don't think you understand what I am saying;

I mean more than 40 players total;

ie 25 on 25?

The server/maps wont let you have more than 20 players on a team but there are some mods/plugins that will.

I am wondering which ones will do that.

I think someone posted that PTBx could spawn multiple players on same spawn point... If you check server cvars you should be able to see if the server is running PTBx...

I'm sorry xfactor19, You can edit the entity file in any map and add spawns to them with EntEd. It takes a little time you just have to work out the coordinates. Only the server has to have the entity edited map and players with the unedited map can still join and it wont mess with map constancy.

That worked great! I got all the stock maps with 64 confirmed spawn points :P

Although you can't vmex the map after you do that, it crashes for some reason eheh.

where can I get EntEd?

Does this modify the bsp or does it add something in a different file and can I do that via my plugin?

It modifies the entity list inside the BSP.
