Well it doesnt take more than a quick look to tell that the hl2 server plugins forum is getting bigger. Simply stickifying a plugin isnt enough. It might be a good idea just to give them their own section in the forums. I mean Admin DLL has over 93pages with 1385posts!!! it shouldn't take too much from you guys.

Nice of you guys to be hosting their forums. And good luck with sm!

a subforum hack would probably be a nice solution.

those are all 3rd party plugins unrelated to SourceMod in anyway. THey are lucky they even get a thread

Still, I think for the moment they're doing a great job forming a large and varied community of coders & testers...
Forming some subfora would only add to their fame and in the end leave them with an even larger market for S.M.
Adding a subforum for HL2DM could get Sourcemdo more visitors, which in the end will add to the number of users.
(And if I might suggest another subforum: Webscripting for Source... (java, php, steam:// and Sourcemod alike))

Best regards,
Tim

I dont think you guys get it.

SourceMod is letting people post thier plugins here for now.

This is like AOL having an advertisment for NetZero on aol.com

No its not.

The fact that people are coming to Sourcemod forums and they are finding the answers that they need to run there servers in the way that they want to is in fact helping sourcemod also.
My plugin will become useless and unsupported once source mod is fully released.
But the fact that people are able to come here and get a means to admin there server right now does in fact let people know that here is where they need to be to get there admins needs met.
The fact that the plugins available here are not written nor supported by the Sourcemod developement team them selves is irrelevant, the people got what they needed right here.
If its something that developes into something big enough to be a competition to sourcemod, then it might not be left on the forums....or maybe it would be...who knows...
But this is more about the open exchange of ideas and about providing a means to have people do what they need to do to control their servers the way they want to.

just my 0.02 cents worth.

Actually its more like NetZero being dependant on AOL.

Come on sourcemod guys, it wont take much for you to setup a better forum for admin plugins. Its really impossible to track the muiltiple conversatins in a single thread.

Part of the problem is that SourceMod is about SourceMod, not about providing developers with forums for their own products. Although I'd like to think it's infinite, we have limited bandwidth and space.

Furthermore, people who wrote closed-source plugins tend to have their own hosting and forums. How about this, if we can find a sub-forum hack, we'll let people use it if their product is Open Source.

Does that sound good?

Those with closed source projects could go to UA, they seem to like those :)

EDIT: (Adding something uselfull)
Once sourcemod gets released, most of these minor admin plugins will proberbly die off rapidly.
Doing alot of work, to help these minor plugin might not be worth it. Just making a few sub forums untill sourcemod is out should be suffient
