You know when I first saw the title of the post, I thought it was going to be about requesting some way to write plugins in Visual Basic. :-P (which is just wrong on oh so many levels)

Anyways, phpBB is quite nice. vB has become a bit cluttered as of late, but I do like being able to search within a particular topic in vB3, especially when the topic is many pages long. The search results might tell me what I was searching in one topic, but when the topic is so many pages it's hard to sift through sometimes. But aside from that, overall phpBB seems better and faster to me. It just has a less cluttered default layout and appearance that's more pleasing to look at than with vB.

Anyone remember UltraBoard? It was an old Perl-based message board system. The last version that came out was UB 2000. And they were in the process of making a UB3 that was to have a Perl and PHP version as I recall. But then the company kind of just disappeared. A shame though, I loved that board back in its day.

I havent checked the phpBB site in a while though, anyone know if there are any new updates and if they are do I have to wait until the maker of that skin releases a new version?

Ya, what is the point of making people pay for a board? They must think we are stupid. Do they not know that PHPBB is out there? Point less.
