I can not install because the folders are not writable.

The SourceBans manual says to use the "CHMOD", but I'm Beginner in linux and I do not know what that means. I only know that this refers to the folder permissions
CHMOD the following files/folders to 777:
/config.php
/demos
/images/games
/images/maps
/themes_c

Upload all the contents of /web_upload from the zip file to your webserver where you want SourceBans to be installed to.

As Cooky said above, NOT 777.
If you are so retarded that you would blindly give away PIN codes to your credit card and such things, well, then it would probably also be okay for you to go with 777.
But unless you are that kind of person, you do NOT use 777.
EDIT: "You" does not refer to any specific person in this text.
