Deleting files from srcds folder?

Can I discarding files from the CSGO dedicated server's directory such that the next update don't download them again? (I think for the never used map files etc.)

Does anyone know a solution for this?

I would like to delete some maps and the directx_installer folder, and then I can install an another srcds on my VPS.

Do this:


Install one server, fully.
Delete the directx_install folder and any maps you don't want (don't delete de_dust).
Copy the server installation to a new location for your new server
Start the server. (Don't do validate or it will download the files all over again)

If you're full on space check the steamapps folder and look for temp/ or downloading/ and delete.
