Can't see why it wouldn't:

However, when you say "the modules", I'd say it depends from module to module. If the author of the module you wish to use either left the community or doesn't develop on it anymore, it could eventually break some day.

You should always look at the module's own thread to see what others says, check the author's last activity (shown in his/her forum profile), .. and so on.
