I'm pleased to announce that SourceMod 1.6.2 and Metamod:Source 1.10.3 have been released.

They both primarily contain updates to restore functionality after some game updates for Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Additionally, some compatibility shims have been put in place for games that use Steam authentication but use different formatting for their auth string representation. This includes only TF2 for now, but will include more games in the future so that you do not need to update any files and can continue to use the old format. More details are in the Release Notes.

You can get SourceMod 1.6.2 from the downloads (http://www.sourcemod.net/downloads.php) page. Some support links:

Do they fix the lags we have? Or do they fix other functionality problems?

Good work!

No issues that I'm aware of have been reported for running on Insurgency, but I haven't tried it myself in a long while.

These releases appear to work fine on Insurgency. You might want to double-check your install.

Again, this has nothing to do with SM. Valve made many under-the-hood changes for the linux build in the same CS:GO update that broke SM for similar reason. Numerous people are even reporting perf issues on vanilla CS:GO linux servers since that update, most noticeably 128-tick ones. It's not just servers with SM. It's in Valve's hands to fix. We can't do anything about it as it's not related to plugins.

I'm closing this thread as the original issue has long since been resolved.

Good work and thanks guys. :)

The slow down issue with Sqlite that some people were experiencing has been resolved with this latest version and the Server is nice and smooth. 8)

Cool. Thanks. By the way, I noticed when you type "meta list" or "sm exts list", it doesn't list SDK Hooks. Is it supposed to be that way?

SDKHooks is only loaded if you load a plugin that depends on it.

Alrighty, that makes sense. I just thought it would be listed regardless anyway. Thanks.

They both primarily contain updates to restore functionality after some game updates for Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
I updated both and the server still crashes on startup. I removed all my foreign plugins. The server works fine as vanilla. http://i.imgur.com/uZRVcu3.png

You don't say what game you're having trouble with, but if TF2, there was a breaking update to the game after the SM 1.6.2 release. This is fixed in 1.6.3-dev snapshots and will be fixed in the 1.6.3 release.

Ok, thanks. Could have sworn I already tried a 1.7 snapshot, but I guess not. It seems to be working.

1.7 isn't necessary; the latest 1.6 snapshot, paired with the latest metamod 1.10.4 snapshot, should suffice.

Hello, not sure if this is the proper thread for it but...

I work with the development team of Pirates, Vikings, Knights II (PVK2) and we had a recent large update on Oct 30th (first time being on sdk 2013) which seemed the same day as the 1.6.3 came out through our server providers. Ever since then, sourcemod has not worked and thus none of the plugins.

With the 1.6.3 and latest metamod, sourcemod does not load at all (and no error) it gives an error relating to metamod instead

Error reloading plugin: Could not find interface: VEngineServer022

Had friends test this with their dedicated servers and they had the same issue.

I had attempted to revert back to 1.6.2 but this new error is given and the metamod one is gone. Seems related to plugins using SDKhooks:

[SM] Unable to load extension "sdkhooks.ext": Failed to setup entity listeners
L 11/02/2014 - 19:40:13: [SM] Unable to load plugin "noamp.smx": Required extension "SDKHooks" file("sdkhooks.ext") not running

Two friends of mine mention that sourcemod needs to be updated after a patch for plugins to work again for it. Is this true? And would that have to be 1.6.4?

As you can see from this thread, 1.6.2 is the latest release. 1.6.3 has not been released yet and is still in development.

The error that you are receiving is from a temporary issue in the 1.6.3 development branch affecting some SDK 2013 mods. Once it is fixed, sometime before the final 1.6.3 release, you will see the same issues you see on 1.6.2 until someone updates SourceMod's gamedata for your mod's update.

Thank you for the reply. I wasn't sure if to post here or a new thread since I had mentioned 1.6.2 as well.

So the main issue is needing someone updating the SourceMod's gamedata independently not the actual SourceMod updates itself. If that is done would a new version of SourceMod need to be waited on to go with it or that can be at any time?

Edit: Excuse my ignorance, since our main server owner had bailed I had to learn a lot on my own and with some aid of others very quickly

I have tried downloading sourcemod-1.6.2-windows.zip from every link, which appears to download fine but when i try to open it i get a message telling me it`s an invalid zip.

Any ideas what is wrong?
