Plugins Confuse me

Hey everyone im new here, and new to plugins. I installed amxmodx with no problem, its just the plugins i dont get. I have tried almost every tutorial for installing plugins i can find none of them work. When i type amx_plugins in the console it says "uknown" and "bad load" please help me!
