No it only works in Steam clients (any mod should be fine). And it uses only client's bw.

Are you sure? I thought any pages pulled using MOTD had to be relayed to client through server connection (i.e. server bw).

I think only the valve mods have the updated MOTD that supports html. The other mods proberbly have to wait for a new sdk release whenever that is.

Well, however it is I can't change it. Not like I could implement a fullblown browser anyway. This is the ingame browser (actually I think it's IE (?)), so you'll have stick with it. Ha! :-)
I don't see though why server would need to get the contents first; it's only needed by the client.

It is IE, but missing flash/java and so on.

btw, i made a webpage with frames that allows the users to type in any url they want. Without having to do it via say :)

1) is it compatable with all versions of amxx
2) does the player still have the option to type instead of visit the web
3) are there any commands associated with it?

bug) the "page" closes whenever you press space or enter (space extremely annoying if using google, etc - i suppose u cant change the enter bug)

idea) would be great if you could set a default page if the user only writes "/surf" (it just shows "/surf" now)

This plugin predates the steam browser considerably. At the time, this was a revelation!
