Won, I know it gonna go.. But I can't really stand steam, to many issues, update, sheesh... its like a full time job keeping up with the update to steam on a daily baisis..

I Have have Steam installed Fully up to date and all the mods installed along with HLDS ready to go.. I jsut dont like steam... If i wanted to play on steam I would be lol

I liked steam since the 1st day.. Ofcourse it had many problems in beta stages... I can't remember how many times I hit my keyboard because of steam not working... but hell... it's cool afterall... You get updates without too much effort and you can buy games without leaving your apartament... hwo can one still like WON ? No updates, no real support for the game. Now I can track my friends... see on what server they are on and so on... It's cool!

Never had any problems on a computer with the final version of Steam (ie not beta).... and I manage 30 in a single i-cafe.

im sry but im a dedicated WON fan till my dying day. I mean i do run steam and 1.5 but thats only cuz i HAVE to or i cant play any of the new games. But in my opinon Valve is slowly but surely driving cs down the shitter... 1st steam, then pretty soon a monthly payment...

BAD:

More usage of bandwidth than than WON. Causing LAG issues. Web pages, constant updates, and unneccessary features.
Lack of stability.
Console takes up the whole screen.


GOOD:

HTTP fast download feature.
Console copy + paste feature.


WON FACTS:

GOOD:
Less bandwidth consuming.
Console didn't consume the whole screen.


Won would be great if it had HTTP FAST feature. I still vote for won. Old won people unite!

I prefer Steam though :D easier to use, hate those updates sometimes though :x

I liked Won because it ment that Valve had to release their games in CD
form because I feel uncomfortable using stuff like credit cards over the
internet as well as the fact I don't have a credit card.

Another thing that disturbs me about Steam is how they can shut off my
account any day of the week they please or anything like that I lose
all that money I put into all those games I bought and I'm stuck with
nothing whereas with Won it was more like a traditional game you could
play without Steam so in short Valve can easily screw you over now
and if Valve should ever go out of business or something of some other
event of some large significance should happen then your totally screwed
over with a CD key thats worthless because you need Steam to use it.

iamjosh, learn your math. If our current date is March 9th 2008 and the thread starter posted this thread on March 9 2004, thats a 4 year difference. 1461 days, or 35064 hours or 2103840 minutes or 126230400.

How are these comparable? Steam is a content delivery platform. Correct me if I'm wrong. But.. WON was just a service.. I like Steam, I played CS and HL Mods when it was all still WON, I guess. It was annoying, I didn't like the old HL. Having to open the game, switch the mod, and go from there. Steam is so convenient and this is a pointless argument.
