I figured it would be best to try to create a new thread to consolidate what people need to do to run zm on cs:s now that it has been updated.

So here is what people need to know:
What extensions are needed (exact versions)
What version of ZR works
Other files required

Any special configs needed for linux or windows.

Works on linux and windows servers. Also note this:
You need install MMS and SM normal way but in ...orangebox/cstrike/addons
It update new Cs:s srcds and must be also launch server from ...orangebox/srcds.exe

(Path may be a bit different from your)

OLD CS:S SRCDS

The stable branch of ZR (r614) is working. Development branch will change and maybe break as we will be working on stuff there.

Known new bugs with ZR:

Overlay doesn't work well for mac players (white screen). Disable zvision on all classes (set overlay_path to "" in playerclasses.txt on all classes). We need new overlay material files.
Once zombies infect all humans, there's a round draw (bug 187 (http://code.google.com/p/zombiereloaded/issues/detail?id=187)). It does not reset map timer, so it's not critical either.
Zombie picked up a grenade (but couldn't use it).
Annoying spammed hint text sound. Workaround until we release the next patch, use this plugin to stop it: http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=130867


Otherwise it's actually working pretty well. At the moment, the only CS:S servers that run a zombie plugin with players is a Zombie:Reloaded server. ZR is dominating at the moment, until Zombie Mod is fixed. Those who switch to ZR might not switch back to ZM when/if it's fixed. :wink:

please give links of the SM 1.3.3 version you are running. mine still gives:
Required extension "cstrike" file("games/game.cstrike.ext") not running

no idea how to fix..

In my server, sdkhooks131-obv-sm13 not turn on, so I do "sm exts load sdkhooks.ext.dll". Now is load OK.

If I load the plugin sm plugins load zombiereloaded.smx, server down. So the problem is SDKHooks

Very strange b/c I know it loads in mine b/c if I take it out srcds loads and gives and error for zm. If I put it back it crashes on load up.

Maybe I will try an old version with zr tools rofl!

I'm running a server on windows, still waiting for a fix. I got metamod and sourcemod installed (beta sourcemod)

Don't forget to post your crash dump files so he can see exactly what is crashing.

Don't forget to post your crash dump files so he can see exactly what is crashing.

There are no dumps generated... otherwise I would have debugged them...

I'm trying to fix ZRiot right now and the same crash is happening for me. It just closes, no crash dumps.

Ah I see so it needed a game data update!

So when I am tagged nothing happens... well it does make the sound, shake the screen and show up as a kill at the top corner of the screen but I do not become a zombie nor does anyone else.

Do I need to clean install again!?

The cookie stuff depend on clientprefs. Make sure it's running and your database is online/ready.

Btw, you didn't include the error message, so we can't see what's wrong either.

Just an FYI some zombie maps crash the server right on join after the update. If your server is crashing when you join try changing the default map to dust2 or something and see if it goes away. This can save you a lot of time.

Is there any way to implement this client side fix (http://www.trident-gaming.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=2231) into the ZR plugin? I think if there is a way to replace clients' weapons, then there must be a way to replace the sound.

I don't know of any way to force a client to download a file and overwrite an existing one, nor would it be right. By doing that we'd be taking away that sound permanently without permission.

I didn't mean "replace" as in overwriting their files, but only to have them download a custom sound and use that instead of the default, like with custom player models.

I don't think that's possible.. the code that tells the client to play that sound is on the client which we can't touch.

The only way is for the client to replace that sound file with an empty file.

I agree but would still wait until the random !ztele spawn points being implemented then I would switch :P

It's a trivial bug. Probably caused by clients who join and disconnect quickly. Made a bug ticket: bug 192 (http://code.google.com/p/zombiereloaded/issues/detail?id=192)

Install the base package (zombiereloaded-3.0.0-b2.zip) and then the latest patch (zombiereloaded-3.0-b2-patch-r546-r614.zip), then you can start to configure your installation how you see fit. :wink:

EDIT: If there's a configuration option | Feature missing that you had on ZombieMod, PM me and I'll help you out.

Nice! Can this be packaged into a quick beta 2 update? I'm not familiar with the dev builds but this fix sounds very useful.

Instructions for updating your server to work with CS:S OB
Install MetaMod:Source: 1.8.2 (http://metamodsource.net/)
Install SourceMod: 1.3.4-hg2996 (http://www.sourcemod.net/snapshots.php) or newer
Install SDKHooks: sdkhooks131-obv-sm13.zip (http://code.google.com/p/tsunami-productions/downloads/detail?name=sdkhooks131-obv-sm13.zip&can=2&q=)


You also need latest r614 of ZR.


If you did this then use rcon and type

1. "rcon meta" if text pops up (beside unknown command) then try
2. "rcon sm" if text pops up (beside unknown command) then try
3. "rcon sm plugins list" find ZR in the list and remember the number to the left of it and then type
"rcon sm plugins info <that number next to ZR>

Copy the info here.

You have a problem in your SM configs relating to databases.cfg.

Check that out and once it's fixed ZR will load.
