I've recently updated my severs to Sm 1.1
version snapshot:

There seems to be a strange thing going on with the showing of the admin menu. If I open my console and type in sm_menu, the admin menu doesn't seem to load up.

At first I thought it was cause of some plugins not loading up but they all seem to be fine. In game, when I was playing medic and tried to switch to my fourth weaponslot by pressing 4 it seems I suddenly initiated a kick vote on a player that was in game. I think this is because the menu did load, just that you can't see it?

The same things seems to be going on with votemaps. If I issue a votemap via the 'say' command (say sm_votemap ff_2fort ff_well ff_crossover) no menu shows up at the console for map voting...

Anyone else happen to see or have this problem and know a fix to it?

But based on the rest of your post, that seems like a typo in the post.


What game are you running?

Any errors in the logs?

Meh, typo's

The game I'm running is Fortress-Forever on my linux debian-lenny server.

The only errors I have are the following, which are in the error log on /addons/sourcemods/logs/

Next to that there's nothing in the normal FF logs that show any error...

Doesn't look like you installed SM correctly. There are several files missing according to that log.

Also you are missing the sourcebans translations file.

I've had those errors since day 1 I used sourcemod. They've never given me an problems and I dont think that started today, after the update

I've solved the sourcebans error by placing that file into the FortressForever/addons/sourcemod/translations folder.

This sadly didn't fix the sm_admin menu showing though.
As it is now, when you either type sm_admin at the console or use !admin via say, there's no menu popping up.

The game thinks you have a menu though, since you can't switch weapons (it executes the first command of the menu when I press 1 and the second command of the menu when I press 2)

What could be the issue of it not popping up?

It's almost like the game doesn't support those kind of menus, which I know isn't true.

I just did the unthinkable today.

I did a complete reinstall
1. Used steam to get hl2mp.
2. gunzip + untarred the FortressForever 2.1 full linux server.
3. Installed latest metamod (1.7.0).
4. Installed latest sourcemod (1.1.0).
5. Installed latest sourcebans (1.4.0).
6. Started the server and there wasn't a single error in the log or otherwise

Yet, sadly ingame there's still the menu issue. It's not just with sm_admin, it's the same with the sm_votemap menu. It's not showing at the console screen. For some odd reason though, when you tried to spawn a menu and then decide to play, when you want to switch weapon slots and press any number, the menu-command under that number get executed, while having no idea what you are doing since you can't see anything....

There are no error logs of any kind to be found.

Some user on steamfriends told me this problem arose when the orange box came out.

pre-orange box releases couldn't get any menu to spawn. In order to get that menu you'd have to go to the console screen, via the escape key on your keyboard.
That's exactly what we did prior to this update so I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere around there?

I also disabled Sourcebans and put myself in the admins.cfg file to be sure.
Seems I still don't get any menu after connecting and typing sm_admin in the console
