[About]
This plugin automatically precaches and replaces weapon models.
It also supports the backpack worldmodel.

[Usage]
Place your custom weapon models anywhere in your <moddir> folder.
Change the CVAR 'bsp_rwm_dir' (without quotes) according to the
location where you placed the custom weapon models.

Note: The default custom weapon model folder is 'models/custom'.
Note: Do not use a trailing slash for the custom weapon model folder.
Note: The directory is relative to your <moddir> folder.

The new models will be precached and replaced after the next mapchange.

If something is not working for you, change the CVAR 'bsp_rwm_log'
(without quotes) to 1 and perform a 'restart'.

[Tips]
  • Use custom models in combination with sv_downloadurl, so users can quickly download your custom weapon models.
  • You can find nice weapon models here and here

bad practice to use engine and fakemeta in the same plugin.

It was made several times before (by other people) but those were trashed because those plugins weren't dynamical (like this one).

my only suggestion is to have the location of the custom models be dynamic as well. Because if every server that has this uses the same dir, only the first server the client visits is the server models they will see. If it was a custom folder it would be different for each server.

Funny thing is, me and Hawk both have our own versions of this and all three of us did it in different ways.

Hm, plugin is up and running (1.75), I put some models into cstrike/models/custom/ (with these names: p_deagle.mdl, v_deagle.mdl, v_knife.mdl, w_deagle.mdl).

Of course I made a mapchange, but nothing is downloaded (no models/custom folder on my pc) and hence no replaced weapons.

You should unprecache the model that you are replacing, so when a lot of models are replaced, there are no errors generated (512 entity limit error).
