[L4D2] HOW TO FIX WITCH CAUSING THE GAME CRASH

Hello guys, i found out how to fix l4d2 with spawn crashing, i was having the same problem, and i just wanted to use local server, so i found out and fixed, now i can spawn witches with no problems.
Well, i don't know if you need to do all of this but i will put everything i did:
obs: bad english

- Open steam, click with the right mouse button on l4d2, and click: delet local content.

- After it's deleted, go to the directory where you l4d2 was installed and check if there are any files remaining. (if there is, delete it manually)

- Now install your game again

- after it's installed, it's time do download sourcemod (THE LINK FOR THE WORKING VERSION IS HERE) http://www.sourcemod.net/snapshots.php download the 1.3.8-hg3130 (the first column to left to the right and the last of the page) depending if it's linux or windowns.

- Donwload the current metamod version (1.8 ) and make a L4D2 VDF file

- Now you know what to do (put in the l4d2 folder, put your steam id, those stuffs)

- now run the game with sourcemod (Without plugins) so the sourcemod can create the files. (play a game, a campaing) and if you want test alredy, play the Hard rain- sugar mill map because there is alot of witches and if your game don't crash, it's fixed.

and launch l4d2 again, and spawn a witch.

At least worked for me, i know it's not good to have a older version of sourcemod, but at least it's working

(this fixed my game for me, can't say 100% of chance that will fix yours)

wow, i just posted a way to fix that crashing problem and no one reply anything? thanks..... anyone will try? i did and now my local server don't crash with witch anymore.

Thanks alot bro! It worked,now I don't have to set up a dedicated server. Waste of my hard drive space.

edit: When a witch dies or got removed the game will crash back to desktop...wtf

strange.. i will test again here and see if i have the same problem

Still working for me. Try removing any witch plugin or addon you have and try again!

Localhosts cannot be used with sourcemod well, because you as the host won't be getting any profit from the plugins. As your client Index is 0, and unless you use userid, its even harder. PLus, never heard of a crash from witch to desktop.

I still crash and the link to the "right" sourcemod just gives me all the 1.4 versions WTF

1.4 is the latest stable version, 1.3 is no longer being pushed. Duh WTF.

i'm already give up trying to fix the errors,after i have been informed that SM didn't support local host,i stop using it,thanks to TS and Emcitement as i can enjoy again using SM
