So, how would one change a hidden client cvar?

Say for example in L4D fps_max is a hidden client cvar.
I can query the cvar to get value of it, but how can I get the handle of it so I can use it in a SendConVarValue?

ClientCommand of course doesn't work because it is a hidden command. So how can I get around this problem?

I'm going to guess it's hidden for a reason. People don't want random servers to set their max FPS.

Na its not the cvar I'm trying to change. It was just an example.

The cvar I want to change is "hud_targetid_name_height". This is the BIG BLUE NAMES IN THE AIR that gives teammates status away while being boomed.

I want to set it to like a million while people are boomed and restore it once they can see again.

From the server, you can't change the flags on client convars, meaning that hidden ones are off limits. (and for example, the only way to use ones marked as cheat is to tell the clients that cheats are on)

Uhm... We're lucky they allow these modifications at all. Some things are just not meant to be changed.

Everything can be modified by good reverse engineering.

Except clientside stuff that you can reverse all you want, but you cant pump the overrides onto the client
