Now that The Passing DLC is confirmed to be released this Thursday (April 22, 2010), how many of you guys are actually ready to update your existing plugins or ready to make new plugins on the day of release?

I personally can't wait for the L4D1 characters, the new game modes, new weapons, and the witch in a bride's dress lol.

EDIT: The DLC has caused SM and MM to be useless >.< I guess both will need updates to compensate. On top of that, Valve has messed up on their end as well. Servers, even those without extensions, are having trouble coming back up. I was fortunate to have my server work, but again, without any mods.

Another weird thing is, they didn't even fully update the Left 4 Dead 2 Dedicated Server Tool. When you first start up the program, it still doesn't see The Passing as a normal map like its suppose to. This forces servers to start on a different map then manually switch over to The Passing, which is kind of a hassle.

The L4D2 team said that they will ALWAYS have releases for both platforms on the same day. They stick by their own word. Besides, look:

Release is this Thursday
Valve game developers will be playing on PC to celebrate the release from 11 AM to 5 PM and then they will switch over to Xbox 360 from 7 PM to 11 PM.

Are you forgetting that L4D2 itself was delayed for two days on PC while Xbox 360 players played it on release day?

Thats because Microsoft has to approve of every game that is added to Xbox about a month before release. This means that they cant update it much after it is sent in to them and that it must be bug free. They can however edit their PC version as much as they want because steam will just update it when they add it to steam.

Wow, Microsoft should apply that bug free before shipping standard onto themselves...

Of course then we'd all still be running DOS 1.1

The Xbox devision looks at it and makes sure its up to par for Xbox. I believe that their standards are a bit different.

Apart from L4DToolz and Left4Downtown theres no Plugin/Extension doing deep modding anyway.

The Offsets some Plugins (And Sourcemod itself) use might/will break (depends on how high up they are), sure, and maybe some Signatures, but thats about it.

Basically nothing that cant be fixed. If you get crashes, delete the L4D extension in the extensions folder.
