Anyone else gettin this? L4D2 Campaign Loading

For some reason, I'm guessing its my RAM, but whenever I load a campaign for the first time, like I just restarted L4D2 and started a campaign, it takes at least 4-5 minutes to load it, but after I've already loaded it once, not restarted, it takes at least 5-8 seconds. I'm also taking about 2-3 minutes to load the next chapter, even though about 1 month ago it loaded about 3-5 seconds. Is anyone else getting a similar situation, or does anyone have an idea that might fix this/make it a lot faster?

I have an 2004 dell optiplex PIIII with pre-agp pci (yeah I know)
3 ghz 2 gig ram same deal.
Campaigns after the first load decently fast and from the ram.
Otherwise lotta loading from the HD on original boot.

Hm i have, i think, and 8 gig RAM, still impossibly and ridiculously long to load, now my campaigns, whether I loaded it already or not, takes over 3 minutes instead of 4-5. The next chapter loading is still unbelievably long, 2-3 minutes. Any other ideas?

I noticed this.

Although, not quite as extreme.

My PC is fine (fairly new), and my server is decent (no lag, normal ping of about 20), yet maps take ~1 minute to load for the first time.

I don't get it. They used to load in ~20-30 seconds. Maybe an update or something did it...

if your playing multiplayer, the first map wont finish loading until EVERYONE finishes. no matter how awesome yer computer is, the weakest link determines how long it takes.

Yeah...but it's often just as bad for the next maps too :/

dude u dont get it, i might have forgot to mention in my first post that people are usually at least 15-20% throo the map already, anyways this thread is generally useless for me now, since christmas i got a new HD 1TB to be exact and that seemed to fix it xD and i knew about the other players thing first already ¬.¬
