the default one will be created when you load the plugin for the first time. If its not showing i would check the cvar settings in cannounce.cfg

whilst it would be possible, although not in color, it would get VERY annoying very quickly to have connect messages spammed up in the middle of the screen all the time.

Well I would only have it set for a couple people so it wouldn't be appearing that much. It would be nice to have that option.

I got another problem. The connect sound file won't play. Says it's not precached.

can you get the sound to play successfully with sm_playsnd command? try fiddling with the paths etc, and if its testing for you, make sure the sound file was successfully downloaded.

Great plugin although I have one issue with it. I have made my own custom connect message (and it works), but it still displays the default connect message along with the new custom message I have added. How do I disable the default connect message?

The intention was to always show the connect message with the custom message displayed underneath.

Aww, then could you help me find which part of the source code is still sending the default message so I could just completely remove it

not so simple, since the code is segmented to avoid massive source files, the 2 features your talking about are seperate. You'd probably have to migrate some of the code 'up' one level in order to perform a check to see if there is a custom message for the connecting user and display the standard OR enhanced 'always' join message accordingly.
