the monster limit problem is Valve's fault
you can't precache more than 512 items per map
i'll look into the saveexp later

512 items? I just have 1 snark and 1 slave on map .... no items on floor , I delete them

if you mean monster groups you can make a maximum of 100 groups
so 100 spawn points in one map
if you mean how many different types of monsters it should be 5 or 6
it's impossible to precache 20 types
