There are servers that do this already though. Why doesn't Valve do anything about those?

This is no reason for you to do it as well. Valve already blocked the functionality of the equipment manager plugin because people were equipping Valve hats.

It took thousands of signatures from the community to be allowed to use a workaround via an extension Voogru created: https://secure.voogru.com/petition/index.php

This was under the condition that no server equips Valve hats anymore. It would be very unwise to start equipping particles now because it's just asking for Valve to make another move and disable all the custom wearable functionality altogether again....i don't think we want that.

Essentially saying:
Feel free to use custom particles if you know how. Healbeam hat? Go for it.

But no valve particles.

I can say I'm having the same issues , Two days ago I had installed it with the same issue of the corpse and then it somehow resolved itself , I reinstalled TF2 on the server and it is happening again . I was using 1.3.6 but tried install 1.3.7 to see if there was any change which there is not. I have installed attachable , 1.1.8 Equipment Manager , and SDK was updated . Also no errors are reported in the log .

Are you running a windows or linux server? I think it's odd we don't have these problems.
