FYI I've disabled this plugin on my TF2 server as it was crashing every 3 or 4 maps during map change.

Unfortunately there was nothing in my logs to indicate the cause.

Since I removed this plugin the server no longer crashes.

Sorry I can't give any more info.

Extreme One, most likely it was the kac_block_namecopy. My server would crash when people joined with a single character name and no logs were created. As soon as I set it to 0 it stopped. Other people reported the same issue. Maybe give that a try. Good luck!

Matt
Then you can disable those cvars.

The better version I speak of will not be based in SourceMod. All SourceMod versions will work with "non-steam." But I am obviously not supportive of non-steam having paid for my games.

Also, on a technical side of it, its harder for me to make players responsible for cheating because "non-steam" only leaves IPs to ban which most common users have dynamic IPs.

Thanks for the suggestion but that wasn't the cause.

I set that cvar to 0 very swiftly because I found to be a little ... over zealous.

Examples:

Code:
KAC: DK was blocked from entering the server for having a similar name to Displaced
Code:
KAC: Me was blocked from entering the server for having a similar name to Ser1qL
hehe

TBH Now that I know it was your plugin causing the crashes I'm afraid to try your latest version since my server traffic suffered during the week or so that it was crashing whilst I narrowed down the cause.

I'll keep watching this thread though since the functionality your plugin offers is something I'd like to have running as long as there's no downside. ;)

Well, I'm limited with testing.

But the newest version ensures that sockets don't linger open. Which may have been a problem in the past to cause crashing. I made a timer that gives the socket 2 seconds to finish (the query should happen in less than a second).

As far as kac_block_namecopy being "over zealous" its because their names are too short. Generally cheats try to confuse admins by replacing a letter with a Unicode alternative or adding a space at the end of the name. So the comparison will return true if there is only a one character difference in the smallest name.

Me = Ser1qL

DK = Displaced

If you could at some low peak time test it would be most appreciated.

Newest version of 1.1.4 up. I decided to remove "kac_block_respawn" due to it not being the main focus of this plugin, also its had its assorted problems for which I would like to focus my time on detecting them cheaters.

It might be just me, but when I type kac_version it says unknown? It worked before with 1.1.3 but now it doesn't.

This is with version 1.1.4
