Anti-class spam

1 Attachment(s)
Many players are now causing servers to crash by spamming class changing on OrangeBox servers such as TF2 and DoDSBeta.

This script counts the number of times a class has been changed between deaths. If it exceeds the cvar then the player is kicked.
If they die, the count gets reset.

This is only a temporary fix until VALVe fix it.

Configuration
sm_class_spam_max 8
Sets the max number of times a player can change class between deaths.

If you want it changed so that players are banned or banned via SourceBans, let me know...

Thanks! I'm not sure if anyones been doing this in my server (although its been crashing when people are on) but now I'll solve one crash problem and see if I have any others, so thanks. ^_^

Re: Anti-class spam

Is the class spam what causes the server to Segmentation Fault and restart? If so I would love to install this to keep it from happening.

Heh, I get home, read emails from the hlds_list about the exploit, come here and find the fix. GG Dog!

Yep. According to a certain raging group's forums, it adds 2Mb per sec, using their little join_class script. join_class and changeclass are client side, from what I can see and so can't be hooked.

strontiumdog, have you confirmed that this plugin works? One of my servers just crashed from the same cause I believe, and I had the plugin installed only about 20 minutes prior.

Yep...as far as I can see.
I even grabbed that script and ran it to test and it kicked.

Apparently, there is still a little bit of memory creep but we have to wait for VALVe to fix it.

I'm going to lower it down to 4 and see if it continues.

Check your PMs.

I wouldn't say kick a person. What about just a way to restrict him from changing or send him to spectator? I change several times in one life sometimes, rather not get kicked off the server for it. But I like the idea of this plugin. :P

it works great, its kicked a few of these players already, but they just rejoin. Ive had no complaints from regular players about this plugin. I would actually like a perm ban feature.
