Google SteamID Lookup

Small plugin to check SteamIDs by Player Name for other Ban Records.

Usage:

1) Open your console.
2) Type: google playername (where playername can be the full name or a part of it)

It Googles their Steam ID and gives you the output (in a MOTD).

It's so that you can see if they're on someone else's banlist, or similar.

That's a pretty damn good idea, actually. I think this would probably be used to check peoples' leagues more than ban list records, but it's still cool. Good idea, I'll check the code later tonight.

I don't like the Idea, but, You can make to check steambans or other sites.

how do you not like the idea. i think it is a great idea. sure beats having to copy steamid, minimize, open browser, paste and then go back to the game.

by the way, if you can find someone else who is good in amxx socket programming
you can get rid of the ugly motd windows and display the results (max 6) within a menu ingame,
i.e. first menu level for result titles and second for result description.

That's actually a pretty good idea. You can probably find interesting results on some SteamIDs. Just one code-suggestion: Check for id > 0 right at the start. No need to go through the function if it does nothing in the end.

This is an excellent idea but it is not working well with plugins like "Limit AWP/G3SG1/SG550 with Team Limit and Win limit (CS 1.6) v1.3" - https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=1290 & "Team Objectives - Slay Losers (OLO)" - http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=8560 .

It stops these 2 plugins from working the way they are supposed to as the limit either blocks the buy of AWM or stops from working at all (slay losers stops killing loosing teammembers).

Sure - this could be a local server error but I don't think so as I have reinstalled the server 2 times and same error.
