The plugin makes survivors take acid damage for a period of time after getting hit by a spitter's claws. The duration of damage increases with multiple swipes. e.g. On default settings, 2 hits will cause a survivor to take damage for 20 seconds.

This plugin is mostly just to give the spitter some kind of secondary effect.

Cvars:
sm_acidswipe_version - Plugin Version.
sm_acidswipe_duration - (Default: 10) - Survivors takes acid damage for this many seconds.
sm_acidswipe_damage - (Default: 1) - Survivors take this much damage per second.
sm_acidswipe_stack - (Default: 10) - Amount of time to add to timer on each additional swipe. -1 Each swipe resets timer, 0 Multiple swipes are ignored.

- Attacker is set as damage causer

Install
Place l4d2_acidswipe.smx in plugins folder (sourcemod/plugins).
Delete old plugin.l4d2_acidswipe.cfg in cfg folder (cfg/sourcemod).

I think the damage value is a little high, how would we adjust the value?

I like this through, if we can lower the damage done, think it make a good plugin to add to the 10vs10 that I play on.

You should be able to lessen the damage by changing either the duration or the damage cvars to something smaller in the config file

so you're saying the swipe damage stacks?

So 1 swipe does 20 damage and 2 swipes 40 damage and 3 swipes 60 damage over 10 seconds?

That might be a little overpowered. I like the idea of DoT for a spitter swipe but not if it's stackable like that.

Yeah this is an awesome idea, I'm going to implement it on my server with the values set so that 1 swipe would leads to Survivors taking 10 damage total (including damage from the initial swipe).

I also think the default value (2 swipes for 40 damage) is too high. One attack from a Spitter could leave a Survivor with less than half their health or even incapped, and that would be a pretty jarring experience.

I agree that the default should be atleast halved though.

I've halved the default damage and added a cvar to control stacking in the latest version

Sounds like a great idea, I'll have to give it a try on my server. To go along with this I'd love to see Bile Swipe. A DoT for the Boomer with just the idea that it's corrosive bile instead of acid.

I've whipped up a modified version of my spitter acid swipe that works for boomer instead. I haven't tested it yet, but it should work the same as the spitter one.
