Does anybody know how to convert MP3's to wav files so that they can be used in CS? I have tried converting them to 8bit PCM Files at 22khz but they will not play inside of cs. For example, I tried to change the sound in italy to a different song but the converted file does not play. Also what program is good for this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi [nFb]GraveKeeper. I have the same problem, but i serched around the forum and found some posts about it:
if you want mp3 into wav there dbamp i have been using this over month
here link www.dbpoweramp.com :D oh i almost forgot the CS using 8bit 22050hz 1(mono) or you dint hear your wav files im not sure on that 1(mono) it may work 2stereo(cd)
I downloaded this programm, converted mp3 in to wav with 8bit 22050hz(mono), put them in to the sound/misc and added to speech.ini and that didn't work ... i don't know why .. :( :( maybe you will get some better results from using this prog ...

Well I got the wav files to play but they wont loop. Does anyone know how to get music wav files to loop.

Example

On cs_psychobilly it uses a file called bowens and when I replace it with a different file it will play the song but not loop it. I know it has something to do with how the wav file is created or converted because if I were to take the opera wav file from cs_italy it will loop it just fine. There must be a special program to make wav files loop for cs.

That would kick ass but I didn't see a link for it. By the way have you used this program for the purpose that I am trying to use it for?

For anyone who can't be bothered, use that dbPowerAmp to convert your file to an 8bit, 1 channel, 22050Hz frequency wav file, for use with any half-life mod : )

Where is the file that plays the music in Italy?
I REALLY want to change that nasty noise :)

Thanks in advance.
