Description:

The purpose of this plugin is to change the gameplay of CS:S. The objective of the game for humans is to kill all zombies before they become infected themselves. Zombies infect humans by attacking them with their knife, which simulates biting them to turn them into a zombie. Humans have advantages such as napalm grenades to blow zombies back and light them on fire, or an unreal amount of ammo to shoot the zombies back.Here are a few things that have been changed/fixed since ZR 1.0.6:


Knockback system improved, shotgun knockback is much more proportionate to the rest of the weapons
Grenades knock zombie's back with more force
A "gun menu" has been integrated that allows either team to purchase a weapon from a pre-defined list, made by you
Protection has been simplified, you simply get invulnerability to infection, all the other stuff requires a lot of offset finding, default values, resetting (not fun), and it was unstable
No suicide via auto-join, using the command spectate, only as zombie
Picks new zombie when last zombie disconnects from the game
Option to randomly choose classes for players
Checks ambient file validity, and tells you if there is an invalid path
Anti-stick technology, prevents (or reduces) amount of times you are stuck together when infecting someone
Knife is not displayed on zombie's screens
Zombie's have a higher field of vision
Zombies have an epic zvision overlay, and can disable it with their nightvision key
Round end overlays made by me
Plugin that allows players to purchase any weapon regardless of team
I will think of more things and add them here

zr_infect <players> - Infects any player(s) that match the info given
zr_spawn <players> - Respawns any player(s) that match the info given, according to respawn configuration

Installation:


Extract the contents of zombiereloaded.zip into cstrike
Extract the contents of overlays.zip into cstrike
Install zombiereloaded.phrases.txt in sourcemod/translations/ (download right under .zip file links)
Navigate to cstrike/cfg/sourcemod/zombiereloaded/zombiereloaded.cfg and configure the ZR options

Well one slight problem I noticed was that guns do no damage to zombies whatsoever....other than that looks good :)

I see blood....but the HP of the zombies never goes down unless they fall or get burned. Nades and guns don't do anything to them.

When you do the zr_respawn code will their still be a way to allow users to !zspawn when they join late but prevent them from !zspawning when they have already played the round and died.

Other than that, all looks great so far, running on 2.0e.

Edit: I notice with Quake Sounds running it thinks whenever a Zombie kills someone with a Terrorist skin it says "Team Killer". It didn't do that with ZombieMod 2.0. I will look into the Quake Sounds to make sure its not something to do with that, but I don't think it is.

Thanks for providing a great alternative, I plan on keeping it permanently.

Ok, I noticed a few more weird things.

Sometimes the Humans are making Zombie Noises when they take damage(Like the Zombie Snarling noise). I know it isn't a Zombie making the noise because it also happens when zombies are clear on the other side of the map. I also notice the Humans regaining health like the zombies do. And this only happened once, but I got knived by a Zombie and was killed instantly.

Running the latest sourcemod w/ hacks ext on linux on a clean install of Counter-Strike Source to make sure their are no old versions of any plugins running.

Bugs are the priority first but I also have a feature request.

I see there is already zr_dark_sky for when zr_dark is set to 1. Would it be possible to add for example, zr_sky, so we could change the skybox when zr_dark is set to 0? This would allow us to use the fog from ZombieMod, or at least our own custom fog.

Ok got a few more. When A zombie leaves the server, a new zombie automatically spawns. Sounds more like an unintended feature, but it tends to tick some people off when they all the sudden turn into a zombie for no reason when their is a minute left in the round. Also, the start Zombie starts with 5000hp, all others get 2500. For some reason, the start Zombie seems to drop down to 2500 after a minute or two.

Just set zr_dark to 1, and set the darkness to "n" and it will use the skybox texture you want, but the map itself won't be darkened.

Digital, when a zombie leaves it purposely picks a human to be zombie instead of ending the round, I can change it to only do that if the last zombie leaves, which would make more sense. I fixed the humans making zombie noise bug. I think I know the source of the mother zombie going down to 2500 (regen)

atlanta, why should CT's be able to use !ztele? The purpose is for zombies that are stuck in props to be able to free themselves. I heard about the humans becoming zombie bug randomly thing and I can't reproduce it :(. I can give shotgun more knockback but I thought it had enough. Lag at buytime probaby is errors which would be very helpful if you posted them (if there are any). I'm really trying to fix all this crap but it never happens to me :evil:

I've discovered a new bug. When a zombie is killed, it respawns indestructible and no bullet can hit him.

Another few bugs listed below:

- When there's 2 - 20 zombies, and one of them leaves the server, a random human becomes a zombie, but it should happen if there's only one zombie, and he leaves.
- When a player falls down and gets damage, his HP restores without end.
- I have a class, which regenerates. This zombie should have 1000HP - but it restores whole time, without end!

Update


Zombie's cannot commit suicide at all anymore (humans can)
Fixed mother zombie's HP being cut in half randomly
Fixed never-ending regeneration
Fixed random round ending
New zombie is picked only after the last one leaves, and the client is notified that they have been infected by random (which is the random infection bug you guys noticed)
Spawn protection ended immediately upon infection (fake zombie/invincible zombie bug mentioned)
Added cvar to pick which team to respawn on
Fixed overlays (forgot to include the files in the zip :o)
Nades won't kill humans now, and humans are now hurt by falldamage
Zombie's knifing humans won't kill them anymore
Optimizations/recoding in certain areas
Translations updatedI'm sure this isn't the end of the bugs quite yet, but it's sure a big leap :)
The hardest part was finding the real bug. You guys mentioned random infection, which turned out to be zombie leaving, picks new zombie. And round randomly ending, which was really client leaving before zombie spawned which caused it to think humans win.

Trying 2.0f now. I notice it says we are on 2.0e still though. Did you just not update the version info? The plugin size is exactly the same too.

BTW the sky included is perfect with zr_dark_level at n.

Edit: Sometimes the background ambiance stops playing? I never really paid attention to it before, so it may have always been this way.

Another bug - zombie does not appear every round.
Sometimes a random human is picked to be a zombie, and he goes to terrorist team, and the rest of the players go to the CT team, but he is not infected - he is a normal terrorist

Is there anyway to make the bomb unplantable without using Stripper? Some people have been planting the bomb on certain zombie maps(why the mapper put a bombsite and bomb on the map I do not know).

looks good on my server, I occasionally get the bug with the zombie not appearing but that happened a lot more with 2.0e, 2.0f seems to be a lot better.

Another thing:

When player kills himself, he does not respawn. Please add something like !zspawn, to let the late ppl join the game, and spawn if they are dead.

Yeah I purposely made it not respawn if you suicide, because you can just use it to become zombie, or escape being infected by a zombie (if they respawn as human)

Yeah, there is a new cvar to pick which one.

Ok if the T is being switched over, but isn't becoming a zombie there has to be an error somewhere in the process, can someone post their error log?

For the bomb thing, I make it delete all the bombs on round_start, I'll change it to hook item_pickup and kill the bomb entity on pickup.

I'll think about implementing !zspawn, it's really irratating to code, so unless I find a better way to do it, then it's a feature the plugin can go without, I can simply spawn the player if they just joined the game if I need to, no !zspawn needed.

I'm glad that most of the issues have been cleared up, I have hunch for why the zombie is not appearing.

Keep working on this plugin it is going to be great. I want to switch over from zombie mod to this badly but I got to get a lot of things and testing in order first.

This plug in should have it's own website dedicated to it and it's development. It truly is the next generation in zombie mod development. Also I am sure that it has much better performance potential by using the sourcemod :mrgreen:

284 seconds is how long that MP3 is (at least the one I have is), so make the delay 284 so it starts the next sound right when that one ends


The error with clamping is knockback spam from valve. The reason those are there is because valve puts a limit on how hard you can push a player, so it spits an error then "clamps" it down to the max. Lowering the knockback will probably solve the problem, but they don't effect anything right now.

Another bug: player can kill himself with the console, or by falling from a high building, but when he dies, he does not respawn. Please correct this.
And respawn the "laters".

Humans can commit suicide, that's by design, why block it for humans? The purpose is to stop people from suiciding when becoming zombie to end the round. Humans should also die from falling, I can fix the respawn bug pretty easy though.

Why nobody approved this plugin for the moment ?

Good question, it may be because I have it in beta, but who knows

in the player's windows desktop, the cs:s dead(disappear) and jump to desktop, and you can see the error dialogue in the windows desktop.
those days, no reason second zombie comes many many times, i remember no this bug while just installed 2.0f. but this days it happened too many.
one more question. how can i make the mp3 play in cycle mode? the mp3 is 283 seconds but the round time is 5 minutes. and i found the mp3 starting time is not at the every roundstart. like a random start(i cleared all the others wav sound in ambience.txt).

Can you do me a favor and enable debug mode? You can do it in plugin_settings.cfg in sourcemod/configs, I need to know which line this is happening on, then I can fix it easily

Update


Fixed array index out of bounds errors happening every round
Fixing the above also fixed bomb/hosties not being removed (stopped the code from happening)
Recoded bomb/hostie removal, works like a charm
Apparently fixed ambience, it works perfectly for me, I think it was the array index out of bounds error again stopping it from re-starting the sound when the round restarts
Humans now respawn if they die, even by suicide
Added protection against respawning dead players as zombie if the mother zombie hasn't spawned yet

I still have the fcking stupid bug with zombie not appearing!!!
Sometimes a random human is picked to be a zombie, but he does not transform to a zombie, sometimes every human is swapped to counter terrorist, and sometimes zombie, which appears, dies immediately!

For god sake help me, because im loosing my players!

I always have to restart my server, to make the server work well for some time, then it happens again.

Free sound list is full is some weird warning that has been popping up in my server for years, even if this plugin is causing it, the warning doesn't effect anything.

But please enable debug on this plugin for me and show me some more logs like that, because this:

is most likely the source of the lag. Errors in SM lag the server badly, if I knew where those errors were coming from I could fix it in 2 seconds, but with the info I have now that error could be coming from anywhere.

To enable debug go to plugin_settings.cfg in sourcemod/configs

The logs you posted don't tell me anything, those timer errors are really random, I will probably end up fixing them, but for now they aren't doing any harm.

So as soon as you get some errors like I quoted above (except this time with debug on it will give me more information), post them here and I will be able to fix it.

The ambience works perfectly for me, the sound should never be stopped, and when a new round starts valve stops all sounds, so I just restart the sound.

Well that's not the error I was lookin for, but that tells me that your translations file is old, you might wanna update that ;)

Post any errors you see that look like that, in the time that you have been making these logs has the no zombie bug happened again?

Hm that helps a little, that means the problem lies somewhere between their team being switched and the end of "mother zombification."

Ahhh, thank you so much for that last bit of info, I just noticed that I am forgetting to stop the timers on round start. Hopefully that is the source of this problem, and it will be fixed in beta H.

Fixed zombie sometimes spawning during freeze time
Fixed zombie moan not working on zombie kids (not mother)
Moved some code that might have caused the "fake zombie" bug, but it was only moved, so the error could still be there, and I need logs of those errors if it happens, this change only helped to not require a restart to fix the glitch

1.i become a zombie while round just start without delay. this is not according the config file and i can infect human. (press tab key shows T and CT still not become zombie like round start).
2.someone told me that some round no zombie.
3.some time zombie can pickup gun shot and kill human.

atlanta, this has to be a result of errors, probably something unique, or something different on your server causing the problems. There could be something in the plugin getting thrown out of wack, does this happen immediately when restarting the server, or after a few mapchanges, couple rounds?

I'm pretty happy with the "On my server everything works fine", finally! :o

Regenerating as a human will be an easy fix, but why is everyone getting different problems?

atlanta, the second error in your last post is caused by the first one, the only weird thing is that in the first error is says "[SM] Native "CS_SwitchTeam" reported: Client index 36 i
s not valid." There is NO way that can be true, because I have these checks before that line is reached.

1. I'm not talking about color, i'm talking about camera view, it shouldn't look normal, it should be perverse (in other zombie mode there was option to set vision 90 - normal 180-extream perversed)

2. It would be great to see this in next version of your modification.

There is no random class feature (there is for bots I believe though)

Decap = lots of work for me and 3x more stuff to download for the clients, is it really worth it to be able to shoot heads off?

i don't know if this is plugin related but when i jump on moving object i'm stuck on it it moves and i am frozen in place, when it moves far away from me i start falling and unstuck again, maybe there is cvar to make this be ok?

Well from the looks of it, the iFrags error seems to be the source problem, but I'm thinking that the native CS_SwitchTeam itself is the problem, because there is absolutely no way the value being put into that call is invalid.

i don't know if this is plugin related but when i jump on moving object i'm stuck on it it moves and i am frozen in place, when it moves far away from me i start falling and unstuck again, maybe there is cvar to make this be ok?


Also if big zombie cut player that player is always stuck in zombie (need to use !zstuck few times).

The getting stuck in objects is probably sv_turbophysics, its impossible to fix, you just have to deal with it unless you disable it in the top of the zombiereloaded .cfg file.

I can try something to reduce getting stuck a little, but it might take a while before I can figure out the vector math I need to do.

Decap:

Decap = lots of work for me and 3x more stuff to download for the clients, is it really worth it to be able to shoot heads off?

Zombie Rank System:

If anyone wants to make an external plugin for this, feel free to do so, I don't think I'll be making this. If you need any internal functions exposed via natives then let me know.

FOV:

Should in the next release if no more bugs pop up.

Hidden Knife:

If I can figure out how (I have an idea in mind)

talk about beta. i think there is some little questions.
1. i set only 1 mother zombie in config but maybe second mother zombie can happend after the first mother zombie happened for a while. this situation happen only when the server just have a few players. 5 or 6 etc. more players it won't happen.
2.most players want join CT because they want buy CT's weapon. and it cause when the map just changed . the first round just CT , no T. so i have to refresh once. because no zombie no T. erveryone all CT ,hehe.
( the team balance has enabled. )

For this moment everything still works fine, zombiemod version "k" has everything needed to play without bugs :)

Thanks Greyscale for your hard work. Without you, my server wouln'd had so many players as now it has.

It would be great, if you would add spawning players who join late, because players really want this feature and write to me about it whole time.

The other thing which would be great is invisibility for zombies.

NO2 . ervery one select CT , they want buy Krieg 550 commmando,so all press 2 to join CT. not pushed to CT. and then no zombie happend .only some CT in game walk around. as if the auto banlance not work at that first round.

about invisibility, my server just use the next model to make it.

I completed !zspawn, I re-implemented it in a different way, but it will work the same as it always did. Join the game late, type !zspawn and you spawn, it will be non-responsive if you have been in the game, or are alive.

Then you probably are missing a file or didn't install it correctly. (Hopefully, if the problem is on my end, then that wouldn't be good.)

possible to have more than one first zombie [number of first zombies in cfg]

Sorry, not going to add jetpack, if you have any experience (or know anyone with SM experience) you can ask them to make a separate plugin for you to run with this for jetpack.


there is no point for ct's to have ztele, it just turns into a tactic to escape a zombie

I do have the ability to change the amount of zombie's in the config already. Although it is a ratio of humans to mother zombies.

First zombie gets 2x as original.

Bleh, my bad, another forgotten file.

I experienced this too when I was adding the fov feature I forgot to add it to the classes file, so your screen turns black and css basically shuts down right?

Update the classes.ini file again in a few minutes and restart

i built a 'pure' server with original zr 2.0 official files, no any of my configuration. but found those bugs below:
1.fake zombie
2.the last zombie left but no one become a new mother zombie at all. all human around.
3.no reason zombie happen.

i had check the console while those problem happened but no [sm] debug show any problem...

Other bugs:

1. When a player has small amount of HP, while zombie infect him, he kills him with knife. Then a messageis displayed "you have killed your teammate!" and when new round becomes, zombie who killed human, dies.

2. Every round fake zombie appearing. The fake zombie is still in CT team, so every hit to him make sourcemod say "Someone attacked a teammate" and when human kills fake zombie, again a message is displyedthat he have killed a teammate.

3. Granades can sometimes kill other humans. They always take something from kevlar, and sometimes kill.

And that error log was pretty much just other plugins throwing errors, and the errors pertaining to ZR I have never seen before. I guess I will have to put it up on my server and wait for the errors so I can see for myself.

Are you using 2.0 or 2.0k. The lag is most likely caused by errors.

I actually agree with you, must more skill getting 3 ppl and alternating the fire.

its just so many servers use it, people are starting to expect it

I have to agree, Unlimited ammo is cheap. As a matter of fact, one of the reason people like our server is because they are sick of Unlimited ammo servers.

Anyways, everything seems to be running great on 2.0. If I can think of anything or notice any bugs I will report back.

I just noticed people that are right click knifed in the back die instead of being turned into Zombies. I believe the knife damage is inflicting 100+ damage causing them to die before the zombification event takes place. We actually do kind of like it though(consider it a feature instead of a bug), as it adds a new twist, but it is also confusing to some players.

Well that's good that you haven't been having problems, relieves me somewhat :) I had it running on my server all day, changing maps every 10 minutes and I had no problems.

Maybe instead of fixing that backstabber "feature" I'll make it a cvar, hehe. I don't understand why it's still happening though :/.

I mean i want the !zclass open automaticly once per map, so players won't have to choose their class every spawn.

Or allow player to choose if they want to choose zombie once, or every spawn, for example by typing "settings" in chat.

Thank you for this wonderful plugin, i just have one problem. When you are a zombie you cannot see your hands or knife. Would this have something to do with the FOV? I left the FOV at the value the plugin came with.

I can add an option to allow players to see their hands if it's really that important.

The problem is that any fov higher than the game's default does actually remove the hands/knife from the screen, so if you enable it to show their hands, fov will be automatically be reverted to the game's default.

k4rnage, I will take a look this weekend although I have never experienced this happening in the history of the plugin.

yahretzkee, the model not working is the client's problem, they don't have all the necessary software to support the model's transparency I guess.

sdj0310, I have yet to find any problems with the official version, I will try my best to see exactly whats up.

Anyone who is having problems, can you maybe send me an IP so I can see the bug first-hand?

When either i change to zombie or get infected by another player i or the server pauses for 1-3 seconds. Does anybody else get that. If i disable the esplash and the explosion it doesn't do it at all i believe. But it's not fun without those because you won't know if you become the zombie.

- Bots some times don't understand in which team they are ^^ and what to do
- Zombie can pickup weapons on the floor AND USE THEM !
- Some time zombies were spawned with 100Hp
- We are not invicible 'til zombie is picked up (so bots kill us...)
- Extra ammo stay enabled after plugin unload... how to restore default value when wanted ?

plz fix ^^.

This happens on my server only once for every model when it is used for the first time when starting the server. After that you shouldnt get any lag, and if you are then SM is outputting errors that I need to see. (sourcemod/logs/errors_*)

- Do you think you could do something for bots ? It should be possisble...
- I will check the hack extention, but it is listed in meta list...
- I don't have unlimited ammo plugin. I just use the config lines in plugin.zombierelaoded.cfg which allow a greater capacity...

And will you add a enable/disable command ? I can't run the plugin without that... (jsute wanna enable ZR on zm_maps)

EDIT : Ah ! You were certainly right : Hacks.ext was shown in meta list until I restarted the server... Then there is no trace of this extension and there is nothing I can do to load it ! Any idea ?

Um just reinstall the extension, I'm pretty sure I linked it in the requirements section of the first post.

I don't think I can really do anything about the bots, I noticed that eventually they start acting right, its just their AI being screwed with because of their team being suddenly changed.

I'll add a command that will load/unload the plugin like you want. It will simply be a way to tell the plugin whether to load or not, so it won't work mid-game to unload and load the plugin, it will require a mapchange

And for the ammo, copy the cvars from the zr config into your server.cfg and put the default values in. When I release a version with a way to load the plugin on certain maps, this should do what you want.

yeah, should be perfect... I'm gonna re-re-re-reinstall the hacks extension... I don't understand what's going on, never had any problem with that extension in previous installation (zombie:reload 1.0.6 needed it too in my last server).

EDIT : What the hell !? Sure hacks works with the last sourcemod version ? I can't get it working ! Never had any problem before with that extension... help !

Could we get an option for Infinite Ammo with no reload on there please? It would be great to have that as an option. Also, what would be cool is mabe a way to increase the ammount of ammo in a clip for when you have infinite ammo with reload, so then you can have a P90 clip with 200 bullets or something.

you could have told me earlier that Hacks was an extension which loads dynamically ^^... Spent 3 days trying to load it without any plugin requiering it, so of course, hacks wasn't loaded. Feel a little bit stupid ! Well at least I now understand what was going on !

Is there a way to change the amount of 'setup' time before the initial zombie is infected? Players spawn and have like 5 seconds to move then the mod infects someone and they have no chance to escape because they couldn't even get out of spawn before the mother was infected. It's ridiculous and unfair.
